stop and think about the reason for that......You want to dump lead into the pot blindly over your head??? you need to see into the pots and monitor their progress. Plus remove dross from pre melt pot periodically.

650F is way below lead vaporization point. The only way you will get lead poisoning would be to ingest it or some type of contact absorption through the skin or cuts.

They like to scare people into submission and to never attempt to cast their own bullets or shot. It's like when they discover a old house with lead paint in the basement. They send out the entire hazmat team and tape off the surrounding area. You would think it was a murder scene or the location of a nuclear warhead manufacturing facility. Don't eat it, put it in your mouth and always wash your hands....don't hover over the pot and huff the fumes taking deep deliberate drags of the smoke....you will be FINE!!

Probably was casting in the house without ventilation if this is true. I don't do any casting in the house or basement. It's all out in the garage or outside where I can get clean fresh air and run a fan or use the wind. Remember these people smoke marijuana and drink and drive and think it is safe! Say NO to guns and YES to drugs! I'll take the lead bullet casting and shot making any day instead! They never tell you that you can pop Vitamin C tablets when you are doing a lot of work with lead to help it keep from binding to your bone-marrow through your bloodstream and also helps flush it out of your system BEFORE it becomes a problem. The common Vitamin C daily vitamins you can buy at Wal-Mart. I have been doing this for years and so does many other reloaders and bullet casters I know.

@@keihinsdad Article: In 1939, a remarkable study was published, entitled “Vitamin C treatment in lead poisoning,” in which 17 lead industry workers were given 100 mg of vitamin C a day, the amount found in one or two oranges, and “with practically all of them there was a marked gain in vigor, color of skin, cheerfulness, blood picture, appetite and ability to sleep well.” The 17 workers were chosen because they seemed to be in pretty bad shape and possibly even had scurvy, so it’s no wonder a little vitamin C helped. But vitamin C is an antioxidant, and oxidation is “an important mechanism underlying lead toxicity,” so it’s conceivable that it may have mediated some of the harm. But, the vitamin C didn’t appear to just reduce the damage from the lead-it also reduced the lead itself. As you can see from 1:43 in my video Can Vitamin C Help with Lead Poisoning?, the amount of lead in a painter’s urine over a period of a month after starting 200 mg of vitamin C a day exhibited a five-fold drop, suggesting he was absorbing less of the lead into his body. He was one of three painters researchers tried this on, and evidently all three painters’ levels dropped. The researchers concluded that those “exposed to lead…should be advised to include in their diet plenty of such rich sources of vitamin C as tomatoes (fresh or canned), raw cabbage, oranges or grapefruit, raw spinach (or even cooked, in very little water), raw turnips, green bell peppers, cantaloupe, etc.” Now, this drop in lead in the subjects’ urine was seen with only three painters, and the study didn’t have a control group of painters who didn’t take vitamin C, so perhaps everyone’s lead levels would have dropped for some other reason or perhaps it was just a coincidence. You don’t know…until you put it to the test.

Yes, each band need to be controlled via an SSR. These SSR’s maintain the selected temp via controller and I’m guessing a thermal coupler.
