In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits with B&T to talk about the NEW B&T APC-9 Pro. It offers a new lower, with an M4 style grip which is interchangeable with other AR15 grips. The new lower also has a bolt hold open. The upper on the APC PRO has a non-reciprocating, dual-side charging handle, that also folds back automatically. The APC PRO also accepts the new Glock lower (APC9-G) and it WILL take Glock mags!

@@falloutboy33 I saw at hkparts for 650 I like the look on an apc 223 or 300 but adding almost 7 bills to an already 3k $ rifle is difficult to justify with so many quality options for far less but if that's your thing your gonna buy it no matter what and I can dig that

@@tarnapolsky4593 yes it's cheaper online but you stated MSRP. I initially had no plan for buying a collapsible brace/stock for the apc but a discount of 200 I couldnt pass up.

@@tarnapolsky4593 If you're going to SBR it might as well go for the folding stock that's lighter, more comfortable, and offers a cheek weld. I'd only go telescopic adapter if you were going to add a tailhook and keep it a pistol.

Magpul Glock mags $25-30, B&T mags $60-65, smart marketing, excellent engineering, fantastic competitor. Problem scorpion is 5/8 the price, and now magpul makes innate 35 round mags at around $20. I can’t see B&T overtaking CZ any time soon, but this is a massive step to compete with CZ. Both are putting HK in the dirt.

You get what you pay for with the B&T. While more expensive, it is unquestionably a superior weapon to the Scorpion.

its awesome that you covered it, i was hoping you would, but it looks quite ugly with glock mags. pretty much everything that takes glock mags looks horrible if i think about it.

@Carlos Villa actually she likes my folding stock apc-9 quite a lot, much more than the ghm-9 of a friend. she also agrees that the glock lower on the apc looks ugly as fuck. well not exactly her words but close enough.

Now I'm rethinking buying a scorpion. Just for glock mags. All easy to find scorpion mags are all plastic. The mpx has steel feed lip mags. But they are crazy expensive. A pdw brace version of this that takes glock mags would be ideal.

I have both B&T APC models and the scorpion, mp5, Banshee, mpx, ak9, the B&T is made so well, and the hydraulic recoil system make it the most accurate, reliable, bomb proof, sub gun ever made. It so good our agency went and got both the APC45/9s and the TP9s. The other sub guns are fun as a plinker, or collectors piece. While I like letting noobs and women shoot my other sub guns, Or taking them to the range I do not defend my life with them, the B&T weapons sit by the bed, in the car, and on duty for protection and security. Comparing B&T products to Other offerings is like comparing a Rolex to a Timex or a Ferrari to a Fiero. The more comparably priced guns are great for older platforms, but other than the MCX or honey badger type set ups in 300 blackout/ 5.56, they have been replaced by The B&T stuff or with intermediate rifle cartridges.

Yup, absolutely, I thought it was overpriced hype until I fired one; ended up buying the APC45 the next week, and a TP9 a month later. I was especially shocked with the accuracy of the TP9.

Was looking to buy an MPX but I might just bite the bullet and pay the extra $500-$1000. Having a PCC that doesn't have a buffer tube and takes Glock magazines is a winning combination.

So did he say they will sell a Pro version with the glock lower and bolt machine for glock mags? Or will that be a extra accessory I have to buy after? I understood if you have the previous version buy a glock lower and machine the bolt so you can use glock mags. Any eta on the glock version, I heard April and Summer time. Trying to buy it before washington law goes into effect charging a tax on "assault weapon" plus mandatory training before possessing the gun. Takes effect in july.

Lethal Hipster well b&t also makes the tp9 which is the tmp. They bought the licenss in the 2000’s and have made some improvements

I remember this gun being in call of duty modern warfare 2019 called the ISO Smg and me being like the hell kinda gun is that. Then I watch a video by a KZfaqr named Omicron Weaponry. The name of the video was modern warfare dlc guns real names and manufacturers.

This is an improved version of a smg already on the market and created and used by military/LE, it's not a pcc created for the civilian market (but it's still sold to civillians, learn something H&K...)

Confirmed: APC9 Pro will ship with B&T Lower receiver that will accept B&T mags. Glock lowers will be sold separately.

I’ll be “that guy”. My Grand Power Stribog cost 1/4 the price with a brace. The mags are $25-30 each. I would put the Stribog up against B&T for quality. The fitment is tight, the machining is excellent and replacement parts are readily available. It doesn’t take Glock mags but who cares.

Michael Westen you are correct, I had my HK mp5 and USP along with other sub guns banshee, mpx, ar9,ak9 and the B&T products especially the APC and TP9 models out shoot, are more reliable, are tougher, better made, and more fun to shoot.

Because that makes sense for commercial sale but as he stated this is designed for military/law enforcement. They want a particular mag. They want it built ground up for that mag, reliable and sturdy. A swappable magwell would be convenient for us but likely make a weak failure point military and leo wouldn't like.

Can someone explain to me why you’d use a PCC over something like an SBR or AR/AK pistol? Rifle caliber firearms are better in literally every way; power, range, price, etc.

Short answer: better terminal ballistics (depending on how you define "carbine"). The effectiveness of 5.56 is dependent on it's velocity; when you drop down below, maybe, a 10" (25cm) barrel, you've just slowed down too much for a 55 grain bullet to consistently do it's tumbling thing. On the other hand, a 9mm or .40 is still picking up velocity at those barrel lengths, and expanding better and better (up to about 15" or 16"). With a carbine length (14+") barrel, go with the rifle caliber; with a pistol length barrel, go with the pistol caliber. Or, for us non-professionals, go with whichever you think is cooler, because both are equally effective against paper..

It's cool.No arguments there. But what does this do that a PCC AR cant do? For half the price? With the same ergonomics and controls everybody who runs an AR is used to. You can use AR trigger groups. Swap uppers for caliber conversion 9mm, .45 , .40. Serious Question. I'm definitely not That Guy.

You can get ar9 lowers to take mp5 mags, new frontier armory I believe. Commonality between platforms and reliability is the reason for the Glock mags. A lot of folks already own glocks with a pile of mags.

It has an internail recoil buffer assembly, so recoil is comparable to or maybe less than a gas gun, which is also why the telescopic adapter is so damn expensive because it houses the buffer assembly.

@@elliottatwell1155 look at it this way, you can have a blowback system (+weight-cost) with a recoil buffer system to compensate for the extra recoil (+weight +cost) OR you could just not use a blowback system and have a rifle that's lighter and either the same price or (more likely) cheaper...

@@Ws_minion blowback systems have an advantage in reliability, durability and practicality especially for a suppressed platform the one and only drawback is the harsher recoil which the hydraulic buffer completely eliminates and then some - gun shoots 100% flat even with no muzzle device. There are some cool gas guns out there but I don't want to get a fart in the nose and mouth every time I pull the trigger, and the action is so much smoother than even the best H&K made roller locks.

@@elliottatwell1155 define smoother than a HK roller system because every source I've seen says that the MP5 suppresses better and recoils less due to a lighter bolt and the rollers allowing all the crap to go out the front before the bolt comes back and let's it back into the action/your face.

@@Ws_minion just the tactile feel of cycling the action; recoil wise the MP5 is awesome and suppresses well because of lock time, I'm a huge MP5 fan and plan on getting a pre 86 on a form 4 sometime in the future when budget allows but might have to pick up a Zenith or Dakota Tactical sooner. But the B&T bolt is just built like a brick shit house and the muzzle flip is literally non existent, may not be worth the extra cash in 9mm but it certainly is for 45 ACP. The lack of bolt lockback and the MP5 trigger are also factors. I have a Geissele in my APC and it's just pure sex. Can't wait til I get my TP9 can out of ATF jail, if you wanna talk about lock time and not getting blowback.

Same gun? Not even close. Fires the same round sure and takes Glock mags yes. But ar9s tend to be far more finicky. This is built like a Swiss watch. Well designed and precision machined, very reliable. The ar9 is a cool toy but it's no Swiss watch. I own PSA guns too, not an ar9, and they work great. But u get what u pay for and this is another tier of quality and craftsmanship.

Yep...I agree. That is why I like my Ruger PCC. But, these are in a whole different class. And for the Law Enforcement guys already using a department issued Glock. Then they can easily transition to these guns.
