What did you think of Shota's debut?

He pitches for Yokohama DeNA Baystars in Japan, in which the stadium is near Yokohama bay. There are times strong wind is blowing there, so he knows how to use the wind to his advantage.

I liked how he pitched to the conditions. Hopefully when the wind is gusting out he can adapt.

He did sort of speak on that in his post game press conference. Brought up possibly needing to adjust in the future.

He pitched to the conditions perfectly. Will need to adapt when warm & wind blowing out. Some of those Rockies hits would of went out

He did a great job. Regardless of what could've happened if the weather was different it didn't because it wasn't. If that makes sense lol. He will just need to make adjustments as the season goes on just like any other mlb pitcher.

I was there and will take the Win and Shotas performance. I mean what else can I ask for opening day and a win with a crowd that stayed while raining!

I thought his debut was fantastic! He goes out in short sleeves on a cold windy day and shut down the Rockies!

The one hard hit ball that was ruled an error WAS an error. Morel flat-out whiffed on a liner hit right at him. This guy isn't going to make anybody forget Brooks Robinson anytime in the near future. I'd call the Marlins today and offer Morel for Jesus Luzardo.
