I took my histo exam today and i did well just because of you. You have been more like a teacher to me than my real teachers will ever be, and for that, i thank you very much. However i have the feeling that i'm not the only one who's grateful. All of my 120 colleagues enrolled in the second year of medicine agree that you did an awesome job. Keep it up, there are always gonna be medical students out there in need of inspiration.

Washington, I would like to personally thank you for all these videos. I am a first year medical student from New Mexico that has never taken histology before and hated it for the first 2 weeks of class. After discovering your videos, I actually started enjoying histology and actually look forward to studying it and learning more about pathology. Thank you so much for taking something like this and making it so interesting. I am surprised why lectures cant be this interesting. Take care.

Hi Prof. Minarcik. At 6:46 you actually meant dilating the pupil (referring to the more proximal smooth muscle fibers in the vascular tunic) instead of constricting it, right? Once again, many thanks for your videos.
@Javahascrashed5 жыл бұрын
The muscle constricts so the pupil gets dilated, i think he said it correctly

I am sorry, this is too inaccurate. Descemet's epithelium? Bowman's epithelium? RPE in the iris? etc etc... Maybe I am reading the wrong textbooks...
@myblueplanet62479 жыл бұрын
hi, i am sorry Xiribi, but you are maybe reading the wrong textbooks, because this video is very very accurate...

MyBluePlanet Descemet's membrane is a basement membrane of the corneal endothelium and is composed mainly of type IV collagen. This is clearly defined in Kansky, Forrester or any other good anatomy ophthalmology book.

xiribi Agree w/ xiribi. Good images, but some mistakes. Corrections: there are more than "5 or 6" layers of the retina (ILM, NFL, GCL, IPL, INL, OPL, ONL, ELM, PR IS/OS, RPE), calling Bowman's layer (not a true membrane) and Descemet's membrane "epithelium" is incorrect, and finally RPE does not extend along the extent of the posterior iris (should be referred to as IPE, which like RPE is derived from neuroectoderm).

We used Junquiera, and found it very smooth and logical, I liked Wheater's a lot too.
