Paid early access is such a wild concept that’s become the norm. We are basically PAYING to be employees that will help fix bugs in the game.

But I just can’t see myself spending money on something that’ll become free eventually anyway when I could just use that money I would’ve spent on the game on something that won’t be free. Because I know I’ll eventually be able to play it.

I’ve been obsessed with this game. I’m a hoarder so when the new characters and quests are patched in I don’t have to do as much gathering. Can’t wait for the full release. I’ve really appreciated the developers’ transparency. Sims team could take some notes….

i do worry that because it'll be released for free, they're gonna pack it full of microtransactions. hopefully it won't be the kind where it actually prevents you from carrying on with the game. there's some free games(especially the mobile ones) that it gets to a certain point and you basically can't advance without using real money to buy things on it, because you're basically stuck needing certain things. it's unfortunately a very common practice with free games nowadays. but hopefully the microtransactions it does have are just for making things a bit quicker to achieve or for cosmetic/aesthetic purposes(clothing, accessories, decor). i probably won't be able to get it because my computer probably can't handle it. looking at the specs, my computer seems to meet the minimum, which means i can play it but it's gonna be a struggle

Wait until it's free the hype is great but this is a simmer type game and I'd rather wait until the beta is done because of the bugs and frustration sims 4 is frustrating enough I think lol but if you want it you deserve it. Work hard play hard lovely

I would say, it's the touch of Disney that really makes the game fantastic for me! There are so many Easter eggs and nice touches. If someone is a huge Disney fan, I would suggest it, if not, they could probably skip it. I hope this game goes big though, it is so great!

There is a DLV FAQ that covers the microtransaction stuff. The main storyline and all related characters will be free, but they do intend on adding more stories and more characters with a paygate.

WORTH it.. Buy the ultimate edition. The moonstones for the the star paths are WORTH it!

I originally hoped the title would be available as a physical edition but the more I heard about it being online my hopes for a steelbook edition faded fast. The game itself looks really good though & the currency listed in the early access packs are what they're hoping you'll see for an added value. As someone who occasionally buys these types of games it's a nice option for some exclusive swag. Selling character cosmetics and rare pets will definitely help Disney keep the lights on in Dreamlight Valley even when it's F2P.

I love the interactions between the characters in this game, it is so cool to see! I hope they add more of those in the full release

I have Xbox game pass and have been playing since the early access release…I recommend waiting until release to play it. I got through the character quests very quickly, and it seems with every update there is less added. I’ve not seen a new item of clothing in the game shop in weeks because I bought it all but none of it is really my taste so I just rotate the same 3 outfits. I’ve gathered about 80% of the furniture but don’t like any of it enough to decorate outdoors with it because I don’t think any of it looks outdoorsy it mostly looks like indoor home decor. I do have fun running around with characters and completing tasks, which I expected because I’ve been an Animal Crossing fan since I was a child and Dreamlight Valley has the bone structure of Animal Crossing. But at this point I’m out of tasks to complete and the characters are all max level. So I haven’t touched the game in at least 2 weeks at this point.

It is very fun, and the glitches get fixed rather quickly. I am a simmer, so not waiting months or being gaslighted is so nice. I wouldn't but this game unless you really want the founder pack stuff. I got it on Xbox free pass, and I wouldn't buy it after finishing everything rather quickly. I am now bored with it because it is just resource grinding.

Absolutely worth it. I got the game through game pass (xbox) and since I started it a few days ago I have been playing every single day. I love the game so much that I bought it. I mean yes it is really grindy but it is an absolute blast. So relaxing and enjoyable. I love the characters and hope more will be added in the future. I grinded those Dream shards so hard that I could unlock all areas and all characters. The game freezes every now and than but that is all what I encountered so far. But for me it was worth to purchase the Ultimate Edition since I really love love love the game. Even if it is still early access. The game has so much content,friend quests and grinding materials and Ingredients for days. It just speaks to the kid in me.

I played it first in "free" ahem version which you can find a copy ahem online. But I really enjoyed it that I ended up officially buying from steam, as a way to show the devs my appreciation and support. I just bought the standard tho, which I think is actually more than enough to fully enjoy the game with some benefits on top. 🎉

I’ve had this game for awhile and I’m getting all my Dreamlight up for the new characters that are soon to come since I’ve unlocked everything else so far. I play in the Nintendo switch lite so I haven’t been too focused on decorating because it’s definitely a struggle when it comes to decor. Once it’s released for free, I’ll use my imac to decorate etc. But I don’t regret it, the lag is sometimes more obvious than other times but it’s fun & playable. I haven’t had too many issues with lag & the game closing on me, but it definitely happens on occasion. Oh, and I definitely got the cheapest version.

I purchased DDLV shortly after it came out. I've experienced very few glitches and when I did run into one Disney was quick to fix it. I almost always quickly finish each update when it's added and the star path within a few days. However the game still keeps me busy because I love the decorating aspect. I play three or four hours every day.

There is no guarantee that it's going to be free. Even if they post it has been free you're still going to pay one way or another. Disney is about making money so they're not going to take a loss on making a large game and keep updating it without some kind of money coming in!

It depends if the gameplay is for you. I personally like this gameplay, so it was worth it for me to buy it and I love it! So I say buy it, but to each their own!

I’m honestly not sure what to tell you hah. I’m loving it but at the same time some of the quests are frustrating because all you are doing is gathering stuff and that can take a while because you can’t always find it all at once. Still I think I’m happy I got it.

I'm waiting for it to go free, I'm not in any hurry to get it.

About to get this game. I’m/ the family are hardcore Disney fans. Like really hard core, (disney all over the house, been Disney world like sooooo many times) so might just buy it because it’s disney

Well.....I never knew it would eventually be free but I don't feel too bad about that cause I got it on sale

People are not confused that it's in Early Access people are confused at the game was announced to be a free-to-play game and then they announced the Early Access which is normally for every other game only a few months or even less than that but for this game it's for an entire year and it's making people mad myself included because the game was advertised and released with the promise of it being free-to-play but then coming out fully playable in " Early Access" all they're doing is trying to milk out as much money as possible from people before they release it completely for free

Will there be more pay wall things when it does become free? A bit like Falls Guys?

I’m hoping that the people who buy this in this stage will have special perks when it becomes free. Like I hope they don’t do what the Sims did with TS4 (make people pay $40 for the base game for years and then just one day make it free for the public). Don’t make people pay to be employees (play testers) for this and then make it free and just take peoples money for no reason! At least give them something like one free item out of every season pass, or exclusive content with updates. Like don’t make people pay for a free experience ykwim?
