Mental health is important. Stress kills. Find something else and move on. If you just feel you hate the job you shouldn't be there. At that point the money is the only positive

I disagree. If it's causing you ridiculous amounts of stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights....quit. Fuck 'em, just quit. You'll find something else. Yes, it's better to have a job when you look for a job, but it's not the ONLY way.

I work at a warehouse and if I leave without coming back they will do job abandonment on me. I saw that happen when a coworker left without notice. This is an advance auto parts warehouse.

I'm a doctor but I was made to work as a receptionist.. I totally lost confidence in me. It was really toxic. Today I took this step to resign for my mental health.. though I don't have another job in hand, I had to take this step. I hope I'll get a good job next 😇

My first job out of college lasted a week. I actually wanted to quit on day 2. I just had a gut feeling it wasn't a good fit. My recruiter kept trying to convince me it's because it's my first job out of school and I need to suck it up basically. I quit and found another job a few months later. I'm still with that company today and have been promoted a couple times and love the environment. People in the comments section here don't understand if you are feeling like something's off with a job, sometimes leaving is the best choice you can make. I can only imagine how miserable I'd still be at the other job.

You can tell within the 1st day or 2 if the job & workplace is for you. Never stay in toxicity, glad you moved on & found something greater for you!

No one should force themselves to stay in a toxic work environment for ANY reason. I agree with what Ken said about how you address it in interviews - don't bad mouth the company just say it wasn't a good fit. I have to disagree with the people commenting here saying he is a snowflake...you don't know the environment you aren't working there so its best not to jump to conclusions. Furthermore, we all have a threshold of what we are willing to put up with and no one has the place or any right to say "its not that bad"....yeah maybe to you but you're not them. Who wants to come into yelling and people being ridculed? Who would enjoy that? No one...its just something people tolerate usually until they can get something else. And sorry but, 3 sick / personal days is really trash when you look at what other places offer. When people come in sick it affects other employees so I prefer if people stay home and not spread their illness or more importantly be in there disgruntled and unproductive to where other people have to pick up their slack - no thanks just leave.

If you take care of your employees, you take care of the company. If the company doesnt work to promote a healthy environment for the employees, they will end up losing amazing talent and hardworking people. A toxic environment can crush a person's passion for their work. As a result, the company will get employees who are just working to get paid. Nothing will be added to the company. Smart people know their worth. They will find a better job. On another note, mental health is just as important as physical health. Stress and anxiety can take its toll just like the flu can. They are both different beasts, but both should be treated as a sickness. Take care of your employees, and they will stick around and help grow the company.

I am sorry to hear that, that is becoming a serious issue, and almost all companies are like that. They are all numbers, money, not people's health and happiness. People in Europe has so many vacation days to take to enjoy long and often vacations for personal use.

"if your tummy hurts big deal go to work" yes sure temporarily but don't let that idea settle in your mind for good, as a human being you should strive for your own comfort not the comfort of others (the more you work the more your boss will be comfortable in his expensive leather chair).

life is too short to put up with people's bullshit .. if you know you can't put up with something don't force yourself and waste your time, go find something else... there's almost never gonna be a job where everything is fine and dandy and the most you can hope for is finding a job you can put up with

This was horrible advice, if the workplace is toxic & you're miserable being there then leave. Finding a job can be tough, but stress & anxiety deteriorate your health & in some cases you can't recover from it long term. Also if your tummy hurts Ken, other things go along with such things that can be tough to work with. How are you going to tell someone to put their big boy pants on & just go back to toxicity because they don't have another job yet? This was such a bs suggestion, glad I only stumbled upon this video & don't actually know who you are or even listen to your videos.

As an entrepreneur all I can hear is telling humans to not gravitate to their natural way of being which is unfortunately having the need for a lot of freedom which most don't take for themselves. Work for yourself. You make more money and you can take as much time off or work as much time as you want. I say this as a business owner of 29 years. Cheers

I left a job that i hated - i didnt trust my gut on being a good fit for the job when i knew i shouldnt have gone there. The feeling of needing to cover your back was strong in this particular environment. I took sick days because i couldnt bear it, anxiety increased, looking at schedule for the year actually couldnt imagine still being there. It was 12 hour shifts, call centre for police calls. I was feeling such relief just going for a break that i knew i should leave. I also felt my anxiety would hinder someone getting help quickly. Plus i thought there could be ramificatuons being part of the next disaster or event if handled badly and i didnt want to end up in court. Perhaps catastrophising, but there were stories of this. This was combined with living with a housemate i didnt like so didnt feel comfortable at home either. I left without having something, i think i should have at least had some voluntary work lined up, we need purpose and an aim to our days, but i couldnt take another day there. Its hard to know just from this phonecall, but sometimes just being an extrovert having to work alone or vice versa might be bad enough to make you hate a job. But i have also found that continued discontent in jobs is also about personal and emotional discontent, at times.

Nope. Disagree with all these “suck it up the grass is not greener” comments. I was where this kid was 10 years ago. My first job out of school sucked donkey balls. Worked it for 2 years in middle of the recession when almost nothing was available for new college grads. Was happy for the income but eventually found a much better job. The difference is night and day. Wanting to move on from a bad job is not being a “snow flake”. You just have to do it the right way. Suffer through it until you have a better option, thank them for the opportunity, and then get the hell out of there. Life is too short.

I worked a toxic job for about 3 yrs, then moved onto other places as I got older and realized it was actually an abusive workplace. Now, sometimes it's worth it to stick it out to gain some experience. HOWEVER I would always recommend following your gut. I am a lil worried that this kid might have misconceptions about how work is 🤔 I hope he applied at other places first

Totally understand if it’s toxic and bad all the time to get out but I also find that decision is 100% up to you and being honest with your self if you’re just being a baby or not. 99% of the people I work with love our job but occasionally we get someone who all they do is complain and just say everything is “managements” fault. And if they get yelled at for being lazy they take it personally but the rest of us know to not take it to heart if it’s true or not. Work gets stressful everywhere! It’s how YOU control yourself.

I’m a teacher considering leaving the profession after ten years because of the chaotic and overwhelming daily environment, the political bias, and the indifference and disrespect displayed by most (not all) kids. Sad! But I’m also a suck-it-up kind of person, so it’s a dilemma.

I disagree completely. Take all your sick time. Your company does not give a flying f*** about you. You are replaceable. Don't be rash and quit a job if you need the cash, but working a stressful, toxic job for the rest of your life for a middle class income does not have to be your fate. Use it as motivation to work towards a financial free life doing something you love. It wont be easy, but its what we have to do.

I think the most stressful job in India is doctor because we take responsibility for a complete stranger or patients if a patient surgery successful the patient respect us if the same patients surgery is unsuccessful we will we get attacked by family members of the patients or anybody because doctor is not a noble profession it's a stressful profession because there are 12.5 lack doctors in whole India where the country is the second most populous country with 1.3 billion population it means every doctor has a responsibility to take care of our lakhs of people around them. especially I will talk about neurosurgeons life because. our life is the very stressful life you would ever know because every operation we perform is very critical and every operation or surgery needs sophisticated materials but in India the sophisticated materials are very low that and operation cannot be done with a highest paying fees let me give you example a brain tumor operation cost around 45 lacs to 75 lacs or even crores, so please don't attack doctors because they are not out there to earn money , we only earn what we deserve. but we think that we should need respect from every patient. in India every hour atleast 4 doctors are being attacked. in this time of pandemic many doctors have their own family, kids and parents but they are struggling for you because there are not enough doctors to treat the people as there are many patients. the basic scale of patients of admitting hospital in this pandemic let's take an example are 30 patients are admitting but the patient discharge are only 3, so please don't miss behave with the doctors please respect them, that's what we ask from you patients we don't your money or something else we demand your respect because we are sacrificing our life to you.❤️❤️❤️
