I worked for LandAir that is now part of Covenant Transportation. ForwardAir was part of LandAir. They separated from LandAir several years ago. Just some background.

I work in one of the Forward air warehouses in Kentucky and I can’t say I’ve noticed less frieght coming threw no one has been let go and we’ve switched from being kinda rough on the frieght to now we are told quality is king as long as dhl keeps sending acs loads we’ll have enough money for my facility atleast

Im a driver, and I also have not noticed any effect on freight. All of this doom and gloom, assuming Forward Air is gonna totally fail next week and close its doors, after hitting one bump in the road. so the omni merger didnt work out, we move on.

My uncle and his business partner were agents for FA. FA started decline after 2008. Omni pushed FA into more decline.

Forward Air has crossed their Rubicon it’s time for them to take their place in the Anals of history last time I checked they had a small cross dock on Chase street in Elkgrove Village Illinois I use to go in there when I drove for Trans X and again for Custom Companies

When I see deals like this, especially those vocally opposed by shareholders, I wonder what the REAL motivation was. There's some insider games going on that none of us are privy to. Seems like it might be a club member paying off another club member so they can cash out of a failing company (Omni).

Last year CEVA cut a bunch of their lanes, let some independent contractors go. One of their biggest competitors was ForwardAir. Maybe CEVA seen something in the financials and were positioning themselves for a cheap buy/ takeover of ForwardAir. I also heard the other day that FedEx is doing some layoffs throughout their system. Which makes you wonder how long before UPS has to do the same. Just hope none of these carriers choose to do what Yellow Corporation did, getting lines of credit through 4/5 banks. Just to purchase other LTL companies, draining the profits they had, renegotiating union contracts with the scare, the doors would close. We seen how well that turned out. ForwardAir may have to down size their market. Close terminals that are not turning a profit, change or close freight lanes and reduce the number of contractors. Some really tough choices are going to have to be made.

Look at swifts quarter earnings last 2 years and think if they have the extra money to by another company........trust me they dont us drivers are struggling to get loads
