Drop down Bars are faster, period. So since this guy owns a road bike, you can assume that he's in it for the speed, which makes a gravel the right choice for HIM, if he rides such terrains. And a good gravel gets you up there with ease.

@karl70552 I can see where you missed what my comment was about. It wasn't actually about him buying a mountain bike. If you've seen his clips before, you'll see there are a few where he says, "Should've brought a gravel bike" , my comment was a retort to his. But its understandable that the funny side was missed 😉

I am riding a gravel bike with 42mm tires. I had a similar situation with a much smaller puddle. I drove right through the middle of it. But it had been raining for several days beforehand and the ground was very soggy. My front wheel slipped immediately when I rode into the puddle. I was only just able to avoid a fall. In situations like this, almost every wheel would probably have slipped.

Try not to stress… Cyclists didn’t make the ruts or hurt the ground. We saw 4 vehicles go over this road whilst here 😂😂 it’s a little shortcut road, not a trail
