It's been over 6 months since I had my Sculptra done (2 vials). I'm 33, but I'm very thin, so fat transfer was out of question in my case. I was also worried about nodules, but I concluded my face looks bad anyway, so it's worth giving it a try :) And I'm really happy that I did. The volume was partially restored (I opted not to go for the third vial, I will wait for another half a year) and the skin quality is simply amazing. I want to add that I do face massage every single day anyway to relax, so perhaps that minimises the risk of any bumps developing.

Hi Joa. Thank you for sharing your story. Glad you are happy and noticing results. I love the Sculptra glow ✨. I should do a video on it. That’s great you’re still enjoying massaging. I usually don’t massage past 5 days and I’ve been doing Sculptra for probably close to 10 years or more. Massaging doesn’t hurt though.

Thank you so much for making such interesting, honest and nuanced videos! Sculptra sounds amazing, and I’m really considering doing it. I’m not afraid of getting nodules (especially not after watching your video).. but I read some stories about granulomas.. and I really don’t know how to judge them. Is there really a chance of developing granulomas? Or did these people get ‘fake’ sculptra? Or did the formula change over time? Hopefully you know the answer :)!

Beware of Sculptra! In 2019 I went to a dermatologist to fix the acne scars on my face. I was told my face was too hollow and needed Sculptra to add more volume. I was told it was safe and there was nothing to worry about. After the procedure, I developed some large cystic lumps on my face. It took four and a half years to go away and left some scars after it dissolved. It was a nightmare! Never again.

I'm 35. I received 3 vials of sculptra last year and had no complications whatsoever. I went in for my yearly top-up 3 months ago, and I could immediately tell something was different. My lower cheeks were swollen for a few days (never happened before) and unlike the previous treatments I never got back to my pre-treatment face. Normally you are plump for a few days and then it's like nothing happens until a few weeks/months after, when the collagen actually builds up. This time I stayed plump from the beginning. I really liked myself, I thought "well, finally reached the result I was going for". Then, after a couple of months, my face started hurting and got slightly swollen, and I could feel some bumps deep in my cheeks. I went back to my provider, who injected saline solution and prescribes oral steroids. Then it quickly spiraled. As soon as I stopped the steroids, my face got very swollen and painful. My provider made me ingest large quantities of vitamin D3, injected some more saline and had me on more steroids. I felt better the next days, but the bumps were still there and still hurting. She then injected some hyaluronidase which I had a violent and allergic reaction to, I got REALLY swollen from it and a couple days after she finally injected steroids. The bumps have gotten smaller, but my face is very hollow now, with a scar I suspect from the hyaluronidase - which she said was protocol before steroids. I'm not sure what's made my face this hollow in the injected area, if steroids or hyaluronidase. I went back in yesterday and she found two more nodules, which she injected with steroids. All this to say that unfortunately it is something that can happen, even if you've already had other sculptra sessions and massaged thoroughly. I hope I can solve this and get back to the result this treatment was delivering before I got this bad reaction.

@@EadsB7002 hello, thank you for your message! 1 to 2 yearly top ups are actually recommended in order to maintain your results, since we naturally keep losing collagen as years go by. Since my comment, I've been treating my face with so many things including Radiesse, RF-Microneedling, IPL, Biorevitalization and Carboxytherapy - all administered by the same provider - to fix the damage that was done. I still have two problem areas that we are working on. Anyway, after a congress about filler complications, my injector told me that what caused my reaction could be a supplement that I was taking. Apparently, lately there have been several reported cases like mine, in people who were taking collagen and hyaluronic acid supplements. She said it's still not clear how this would happen, but I was indeed taking a supplement that has verisol collagen and HA in it - she said avoid taking it for a month after any biostimulatory fillers have been administered. Hope this helps someone out there!

If I ever do get Sculptra (if my husband agrees to the expense-he was VERY put off by the cost and lack of results of fillers and lasers), I would definitely NOT go to the dermatologist I saw for fillers and laser treatments. Those were completely a waste of time, down time and money (over $50,000 for four laser treatments, another $12,000 for four sets of fillers-approx five vials). After everything I’ve read, and after talking to people who had excellent results with the first and second treatments, I’m convinced that the problem was the doctor! Also, does the same company make PLLA threads? I would rather try a thread before sculptra to see how i respond to it.
@NaturalInjector
@NaturalInjector Жыл бұрын
I have not had issues with nodules so I continue to reconstitute my Sculptra 1 week before. Reconstituting it ahead of time may also lessen the clogging that happens when you inject Sculptra. The study Galderma did only showed that you don’t clog as much if you reconstitute the vial ahead of time. They did not study nodule formation and time of reconstitution, so I’m not sure if there would be less likelihood of nodule formation but possibly, since the Scultpra would be soaking for longer I would think the PLLA particles would have time to be more evenly distributed.
@NaturalInjector
@NaturalInjector Жыл бұрын
@@shee3073 Great question. No they do not. All the thread companies seem to produce threads and not fillers or toxins. The companies that make Sculptra, fillers and toxin do not manufacture any threads, at least here in the US. I feel if you wanna stimulate your own collagen, get Scultpra that way you are able to distribute it more evenly because it’s being distributed with water vs in the vectors of where threads are placed.

Can you combine filler and sculptra? How long should you wait after getting for example cheek filler?
@NaturalInjector
@NaturalInjector Жыл бұрын
No you shouldn’t combine them as far as doing them in the same area of the face on the same day. I usually have my patients wait 3 weeks or so after getting Sculptra before they get filler to the same area of their face. If it’s a different area of the face then you can do filler on the same day, providing the massage won’t interfere with where you are putting filler.

I’m a 75 year old man who has lost body volume due to weight loss. A very reputable plastic surgery/cosmetic office recommended 3 Sculptra facial treatments. I had my first treatment of 2 vials. Thereafter, my normal brushing diminished after approximately two weeks. However, during that time, i noticed a remaining light bluish area around multiple injection sites. After 6 weeks I went in for my second treatment. I addressed my concerns about my remaining light bluish skin color on my face, but I didn’t get a satisfactory answer. I was told to wait another 3 weeks to see if there’s any improvement. So, therefore, I did not receive my second treatment. It seems as though they don’t have a very good answer for me. It’s now been 9 weeks since my first Sculptra treatment, and my facial skin still has a light bluish tint. Any advice ? Is this going to be permanent? In the beginning, I had high hopes, but now I’m kind of worried. I have an appointment within the next two weeks. Thank you

I have never heard of someone getting a light bluish color to their skin tone after Sculptra. Is this in one localized area or all over the face?

Thank you for your quick response. She injected both of my temples, both cheeks and jawlines. The grayish, bluish look is more noticeable on my left cheek area where she injected Sculptra. It’s approximately 1/2 inch wide X 1 1/2 inch in height just below my left check bone. I also have (to a lesser degree) a dime-size grayish, bluish tint on my right lower jaw line. During my procedure, I remember her telling me that the injections on my left cheek area caused a little more bleeding than the right side. Out of my anticipated 3 treatments, I had my first Sculptra treatment 2 months ago, and the grayish bluish tint is still present. I was excited to get my 2nd treatment, but she said to wait and massage the area. I have an appointment next week. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I have been getting Sculptra for 10 years now and have never had any issues. Three weeks ago I went to have my annual touch up vial and my doctor told me that new FDA approved guidelines for mixing Sculptra no longer required mixing it ahead of time. I was really nervous about this with nodules etc. I massaged as I always do following the 5/5/5 rule. Last night I noticed a raised somewhat soft lump. I PANICKED. I immediately started to massage the area firmly and it did go away after a minute or two. I am continuing to massage my whole face for a few minutes throughout the day. I am really nervous and freaked out about developing nodules.

We have been using Sculptra for several years now so I think we already know the pros and cons by now. Why would you need to remove your own collagen? Also how could it possibly look plastic like if it’s growing your own collagen. I think you have this product confused with something else.

Thank you! I was happy until I changed clinic and got completely overfilled! 🫣💔My cheeks looks like two balls or like I have round implants! I looks absolutely crazy when I smile and there's now a huge hollowness under the eyes between the "balls" and the rest of the skin. When I massage the area it feels like a foreign material and my face shape looks completely different. Any advice what I could do to make these overfilled areas less big?! I didn't get any help from the clinic that did it. Another clinic said we could try with hyaluronidase to break down the big amounts of collagen. Thankful for your advise 🙏🏽❤️

@@NaturalInjector thank you! Yes I did but they took no responsibility. My face has a completely different shape. It's uneven and when I smile these two overfilled areas (cheeks) lifts up against the eyes in a very scary unattractive looking way. I know that they used many more vials than I usually get for touch ups and was shocked when they kept injecting it for so long and when I saw the price. My precious doctor only used minimal amounts for skin rejuvenation not to create a new face shape. Is there any technique I can try to minimize the collagen stimulation? It's been a over a year since it settled and 1,5 years since I got the treatment and it's the same. It's a new face shape and uneven. I have apple cheeks now which I never had or wanted and the material feels a bit thick and the skin very tight. I don't want to smile at all since I look like a crazy clown. Thank you for your advice!!! I'm googling and googling day and night! 🙏🏽❤️‍🩹🫶
