I have the SP bronze 30”, fitted me perfectly out the box, 2 1/2 years old now and still going strong, finish is holding up very well and still tight, no problems with it at all. I don’t count cartridges but it’s had 1000’s of 27g through it, way more moneys worth then I paid for the gun…. my idea was to use it as a starter gun but have no reason to upgrade yet !

I bought one, it was purchased as a starter gun. After 3 months the bottom barrel would not fire. Took it back to the gun dealer - under warranty - and that dealer replaced it without quibble on the spot. Great - you may think. The replacement gun within two months developed the same fault. Took it back to the dealer who sent it to the importers to have their gunsmith check it out. Five weeks of chasing produced nothing. Turned out the importers gunsmith was too busy to check the gun, it being close to that years main show. I was going to have to wait..! Obviously I was less than happy. The dealer that sold me the gun agreed that it was completely unacceptable service and an unacceptable reason for the delay. They refunded me my money which I put towards a brand new Beretta SP III, which in my view I’d have been better off with in the first place. The dealer (from whom I bought the ATA) also gave me a substantial discount against the beretta. So in my humble opinion I think these guns are rubbish, I would never recommend them, having had two remember - and regret not listening to those more experienced who warned me off anything Turkish. I would however recommend highly the gun dealer I used. ATA’s - wouldn’t give them house room. Sorry for the rant but you did ask in the video for all points of view…

Quite like your videos but this came across very biased towards Yildiz shotguns and a bit gun snobbish. Who is going to worry about a 600 quid gun after 100000 shells? I bet a fair few expensive brands fail well before this number. Your general body language before you even shot the gun came across like shooting it was going to be a chore. Not everyone has 1000’s to spend on guns, so not massively happy to see the kit I bought being referred to as starter kit and unlikely to be useful after a year.

Recently moved from a Bettinsoli to an SP sporter adjustable. The comb height on just the regular SP felt great (6ft tall big-ish build) went for the adjustable version, not only looks better but gave me more in terms of gun fit. With 30” barrels and the adjustable stock it balances really good in the middle. The gun is second hand so I couldn’t comment on how much has gone through it but it performed flawlessly when I took it out!

I own the SP Super Sport 30" 12g adjustable. For the money paid, I can't really fault it. The woodwork is really nice (I had a choice of 3 at the time) and I've recently got back into clay shooting after a few years out. I previously shot a Lanber Sporting Deluxe and glad I went for an ATA this time around (sadly Lanber are now out of business). Yes, the ATA is a heavier gun but they look great, handle well and I'm thinking of getting the Nickel Sporter or Bronze Sporter as a second clay gun. I also like the look of the laminated versions. Mine is a little nose heavy with extended chokes in but once the cartridges are in the gun this is reduced anyway. I've not noticed any excessive recoil with any cartridges - even 28g loads. Really great value beginners guns and well made.

Bought one recently; can't fault it. I swear it doesn't recoil as much as a Miroku I tried. I'm left-handed, and it fitted *perfectly*, so no complaints there, either. You can see that the finishing of the stock wasn't given as much time as on more expensive guns, but I don't mind oiling it to get a better finish. I love the smell, and it's a therapeutic pastime ! I have an SP Nickel as a second gun, I find the general quality better than the Berretta from an engineering point of view, but they have been built on a budget. The cost comes from hardening in some of the parts and lower spec material in others, like walnut etc. I'm not big into a grade 4 look and prefer a custom painted stock, but each to his own. The barrels are great, The locking mechanism needs a bit of cleaning. They need a little cleaning up when you get them, but I'm 5000+ cartridges through mine now and compared to my DT11 and 682, it holds its own. The gun requires balancing, Easy! a decent set of chokes, I use extended Teal Chokes in it. I've patterned it along side the Berretta and there is no difference. It is a little heavier in feel than a 686 on first lift, but once balanced it isn't noticeable. If you get it fitted to you, you will hit clays all day long. I love my ATA as much as my DT11. If you're happy to put a couple of hours work in to tune it, don't turn it down! I actually purchased mine from Doug at OGC, lovely gent, likewise David (congrats on the recent wedding!). My 2p worth for the day! Happy Shooting!

Explain the engineering superiority of ata over any beretta? The geometry of the ata is nowhere near as precise as a beretta, the material hardness, the mid rib design which is a disaster in waiting long term, the lower breach face negative recess that means only 50% of the shell head is against the face, the metal to metal fit, i'm sorry but they are by no means anywhere near the quality of a 680 series gun, so not sure what you mean by engineering is better?
@adamlewis7599
@adamlewis7599 2 жыл бұрын
@@fullchoke01 I'd read what I've put again and then read what you've put! Nowhere have I said its Superior! Nowhere do I compare or mention the design. I agree with some of your points. I've explained they're built on a budget and with every budget there is a cost cutting. This is not a £2k gun! Because of the industry 'i'm' in I've asked the same questions and have answered the questions enough. I have examined the metallurgy of a few parts, I have measured various components and compared to my old 682, I am still happy with my opinion. There is nothing to loose or gain here and no ulterior motives. I love Berretta's but not everyone starting out in the sport can afford one, hence why I purchased an ATA to see why so many gun snobs berate them. There is just no need! If you are paying the same money as that of a 686 you'd expect the quality to be the same, am I right? These guns will be past down to the next starter in the sport, who will haveconsolidation

@@fullchoke01 something can be well engineered but necessarily well refined! It doesn't have anything to do with Superiority! A Berretta is a very well refined gun but are still not without there problems! Sometimes it actually comes down to the person assembling the gun. Time will tell for sure.

Shotguns imported into Pakistan are 5x times more expensive due to restrictions on import and duty. Here buying an ATA Sporter SP black which i bought without warranty that in third world countries are non-existent is a big risk. Initially it creaked and strained to break open, i used all sorts of oil after a overnight stand the wood support infront got saturated with oil and noise stopped and break action got good. I was tricked by distributor that it has a comb adjuster, it did not have. I am 5’9” tall and find front bead almost invisible while sighting si i attached a Viz High glow magnetic mount. Shot 50 shells on Clays using proper chokes result inferior to Beretta Semi Auto 303 but a good gun, no rusr, chokes well marked, clean, recoil good, break action may get better with more use

I bought an ATA SP1 black adjustable a few years ago, mainly cuz im a leftie, and was hard to find used lefty 686's. Its a very straight gun, so i had to get it cast a lot, and added 12mm on the lengt and also had to get a guy at my job to turn some longer adjustment pins for the adjustable comb, it does not allow you to adjust it much without being wobbly. After all these changes the gun fits me okay. Would have loved to have an adjustable trigger, but its okay for me to do nordic trap with for 2 more years before i will need to move on to something that fits me better. I have had no mechanical issues sofar, after about 5000 shots, so cant complain about that! Would love some extended shokes for it though, anyone know if berretta chokes fit?
