I’m off the grid, rent free, neighborless and I love it. Living in my Tacoma by choice(electrician/foreman) as I am saving to buy a house. I run a Jack1500 with either 3 solar panels or I charge it on my job. I couldn’t reach my goals in this 3 year plan without it. Jackery beats them all and the quality of their products is second to none. Not sponsored.

I have had a Jackery 550 for the past year from Harbor Freight and have used it so much i can't even say how much. Camping, C-Pap, Recharging things, etc. I even got the foldable Solar panel to charge it and it works great as well. I can't say enough about the products I have. It does not run a full size coffee maker though. I got a small one that does work good for camping. Great Products.

I have the Jackery 240 for my hunting camp with 2 Sunpower 50w flexible panels and 2 large dimmable studio led lights which could be switched from bright white while cooking and cleaning meat and stuff or to a yellowish hue which doesn't attract insects when we're ready to bed down or just relax. It's a great setup that keeps the camp bright all night, it charges phones and recharge headlights while it's being recharged the following day and it's totally toped up with the solar by 2pm in most any weather. One panel didn't do the job; but the two panel setup is awesome. The Jackery is great. NOTE: That little bag holds all phone and other chargers and stays as a one stop connections shop in my pickup truck. LOVE IT!

@@johnlarge6104 I have never had to use customer service so I can't speak to that. My oldest Bluetti is 2 years now and I use it as a UPS so the battery doesn't get used a lot as it is using pass-through charging. Theoretically the new one will last through 3k cycles to 80% with the Lifepo4 technology. All of these devices are Made in China so guarantees are iffy. The branded Jackery unit is actually an Explorer 300. The one from Harbor Freight tested here is a lesser quality Jackery 290. The 300 has an MSRP of $299, but it also has two AC outlets, two USB ports, one USB-C port, along with the 12v port and the charging port. The 300 also has a charging brick that offers 75 watts, so faster charging. Got my Explorer for $245 and have been extremely satisfied with its performance, as I have used it daily while boondocking for five months.

Yes, buy it if the wattage rating meets your needs and you don't mind near brown out conditions as the output is only 110 volts rather than the standard 120 volts in the U.S. My saying "brown out conditions" is not an exaggeration. If used with an extension cord (deprnding on wire guage and length) you could easily lose another 2 volts across the line rendering 108 volts. The source voltage should always be 120 volts especially in older homes wired with 14 guage wire and more prown to voltage drop under full load. Add to that cold weather and you get the picture. Look for battery boxes with an inverter output of 120 VAC.

Jackery's are amazing. We have the 270 and a 1500 with solar panels. The 270 is great for small jobs. Charging stuff when the power is out, etc. The 1500 we mainly use for camping. To power things like electric blankets overnight in cold environments. I did buy cordura bags for each Jackery. It would be nice if they came with them, but I get why they don't. The bags are nice to organize cables and protect the unit in transit.

Aside from the price, if it's made by Jackery and not some immitation trying to be Jackery, then it's probably fine, although I think the 290 is an older model, replaced by the newer 300 watt models. I think the best value from jackery is the 1000W unit from HF as it's about $550 when I checked so about 55 cents per KW. The 160 and 240 are cheaper but not very useful other than perhaps just charging smartphones and tablets a few times. Those cannot power fridges.

I have that exact unit. We use it for short term power outages storms. It will run our flat screen TV which is newer so has low power usage. Also runs the Verizon home wi-fi unit, and one 9 watt light. Will run these 3 devices for about 2.5 hours. When the power is out longer, use other systems. A better buy is the OUPES 1800 for $699 - $50 off from them as a discount welcome. So for $649 delivered FEDX in 2-3 days...you can run 85% of your appliances. One at a time. My point with the OUPES 1800, I can use the coffee maker. Then can run just the main fridge in the house about 11 hours. Or I can run one of my small backup AC window units about 3 hours. So if you get 2 off them. Take one unit outside plug up to the solar panels. Works great! The poor man off-grid quick fix for having some power. Because they are portable, I can carry the unit outside to charge it , no worries.

I want their cord as it has the correct 8mm fitting for the Jackery. What solar panel I hook it to should be my business. I know if I hook it to an incorrect rated solar panel it would void any warranty. That would be on me. So I guess you cant get a solar cable unless you buy their solar panel. So I told them that since we were looking to purchase more in the future we would look at other companies. Whats the point of a solar generator you cant hook up to solar?

I got my Jackery Explorer 240 for $169 during an Amazon’s Black Friday sale. The only thing I hate is how long it takes to charge up the Jackery 240 with (Solar, aux, and DC) all take 5 or more hours. I purchased the Jackery 500 and it is better with charging time but it is heavy to carry around.

I think their newest models are much better with fast charging. $169 was a great deal for this thing.

Jackery seems to make a solid product that does what it claims reliably. I have a larger capacity Jackery that is doing great, and has enough umph to run a standard kitchen fridge for about 6 hours. (estimated. I haven't tried it for more than an hour.) Because of its solidness I think its worth it's slightly higher price compared to competing, less well built units. ALL of that said, if you are in the market for a device like this, do look at battery chemistries. I think all Jackery's are still using lithium ion batteries, while other companies newer products are using lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4). Those units are slightly heavier for their capacity, but will last for 2 or 3 TIMES as many charge/discharge cycles. I am surprised that, as far as I can tell, Jackery isn't yet using LiFePO4 batteries in any of their products. If that were to change I would 100% recommend them.

I’ve had this one hooked up as a UPS for my modem for the last month with no issues. It’s pretty versatile for its size, but I recommend getting the largest battery you can if you plan to do anything substantial with it.

Ive got one and im not disappointed with it. They had a bundle sale with a 100W solar panel for $400 and its been great to run my fridge and charge my phone. 4 day trip in Kentucky and I maintained power the whole weekend without an issue. If I could, I would trade it and pay extra for one of the bigger ones though. Getting more run time without needing a recharge is always mo betta, plus the bigger one would be able to recharge my Ebike as well.

Get a 100 ah LiFeP04 battery and parts to build your own power station. Stick it all in a milk crate. It will be a superior product that you can change, upgrade, or repair. If you have the money go ahead and get either two batteries to wire in series for much more wattage, or a 200-300 ah one with 200 amp BMS.

I love the fact that the Jackery is available just off the shelf like this. What I DON'T like is how they're advertised on the website in the fact that they show the PEAK OUTPUT **BEFORE** what it can ACTUALLY consistently run. That's the one thing that's sketchy as hell.

Limit of 500 cycles. Using mine for 12 volt spot lights at the fishing hole, and if that is the only thing I use it for, it will take me quite a long time to reach 500 cycles. So, for the purpose I am using this, it is worth the cost.

@yarpenzigrin1893
@yarpenzigrin1893 Жыл бұрын
Get something better than a Jackery. Like Bluetti for instance. An electric blanket draws around 40W and the Jackery Explorer has the advertised battery capacity of 290 Wh. That's about 7 hours if the blanket works all the time but probably more if it turns off when warm enough.

I have this Jackery from HF and use it for an electric blanket and it's great for preheating. I "run hot" while sleeping so leaving it on all night is not necessary for me. As a previous comment says, a 12v blanket draws about 40w on low and 60w on high. On low you'd probably get about 6 hours of use from 100%. Power stations usually only get 80-85% of what's listed on the watt hour capacity so you're only going to get ~240wh out of this unit...and that's if it's brand new. The more cycles you have on the power station the more the battery degrades so that time will drop the more you charge/discharge it. I bought mine last year on a whim (and to see how much I'd actually use it) and fell in love with it. I use it for my electric blanket, charging phones, a fan in the summer and powering a cell signal booster mostly. I would definitely look at Bluetti first, though. Better battery chemistry (LiFePo), bigger inverter (600-800w on the comparable sized units) and you don't have to get a special adapter cable to plug in most solar panels (Jackery uses a proprietary 8mm input, most panels are now MC4 connections).

I used mine just for this last year, it worked great. I had a combination of electric blanket and heated car backrest that only pulls 15watts I would switch between. I also went to Joannes fabric and got a huge sheet of good quality pleather and made a blanket with it, held the heat in my little cocoon even through the snow

I have this one as well as the 500 in my van. I need the 500 to run my Keurig and can run my laptop with either of them so I often switch back and forth. I broke the display on my 240 right after I got it but it still works. I just can’t see the charge percentages and that kinda sucks.

@@OffGridAdventure I was surprised too and wasn’t expecting it to work when I tried it. The Keurig says 700w but it peaked at about 625 for only a few seconds. Takes about 5% off of the battery. Yesterday I forgot I still had my laptop plugged in (about 90w) and it shut off in the middle of brewing but that was the only time.
