I've been using between 0.5 mg and 1mg of melatonin before sleep, for at least 10 years. It literally saved my life. I had severe issues with falling asleep and it worked for me like a boss. Also, when you take a very low dose melatonin before bed, it jumpstarts your serotonin conversion (problem I seem to have) and your body does the rest of the job. I've never become resistant to this low dose. It always works the same. I went from barely sleeping to sleeping normally. Also larger doses make my dreams unpleasant and excessively vivid. The way I got to doing this was a sleep clinic. I did the overnight sleep clinic monitoring and then they sent me to a specialist that explained how this works and told me to try this protocol. And I never looked back. When I add magnesium before bed I sleep amazing. So 1mg of melatonin and about 100mg of magnesium and I sleep like a baby.

I love this. Thaaaank you for your thorough and honest sharing. I benefit from it for sure (as a 48 year old female good luck to anyone figuring us out LOL its me myself and I in my n of 1 experiment, ha!) I have been hesitant to rely on melatonin so I keep going on and off it, so your review has shed some really helpful light on my usage of it. I have my magnesium and glycine dialed in during the day, no heavy meals at night dialed in, continue to dial in my exercise and I am in pretty decent shape for 48, but now feel so much better about the fact that there is nothing wrong with melatonin being helpful to me. Thank you.

Good talk. I'm undergoing a fairly mild chemotherapy for an eye cancer. Fatigue has been the biggest problem. Increasing my Melatonin from 3 to 10 mg nightly has been a game changer, I'm able to work better and longer. Prof Reiter has been taking 100 mgs for over 20 years so it's very safe, but 10 mg does the job for me.

You are going in the right direction reading Russ. You might want to watch Frank Shallenberger video on high dose melatonin and cancer. The video is already a few years old. Very interesting! I've been taking 2-4mg for the past 8 months & I've felt bad for "abusing it" & not coming off (as it was just so convenient as it usually takes me a bit to fall asleep); so this was all very pleasant to hear. Another thing I actually researched about melatonin a few times over those 8 months was if it has any effect on muscle mass, as that seemed to improve quite a bit for no particular reason (that I was aware of anyway). _Also, I'm a 25yo male & I also take Mg, Zn, L-Tryptophan & D3/K2 before bed (along with other things throughout the day) & my sleep tracker says my deep & REM sleep are pretty much maxed out 90% of the time & melatonin does tend to help a bit with that (but I've only done limited testing...)_ *Anyway, thank you for this video!*

Thanks for this video. I read Dr. Michael Colgan many years ago and I remember him saying that melatonin is at the top of the hormone cascade and that it can have an affect on other hormones when it is diminished. He also said that as we age, our melatonin levels drop at a pretty fast rate and, if I remember correctly, this drop starts in our 30's or 40's. Do you have any information regarding these two things? I've been taking 1-3 mgs of melatonin for the last 15 years. It does help me get to sleep. Its mostly said that you should take the minimum needed dose if you know what that is. For me its been 1-3 mg's.

I’m convinced that there is widespread melatonin deficiency due to our artificially guided circadian cycles and constant exposure to RF radiation and artificial lighting. As such, a little supplemental melatonin is hugely beneficial in a wide percentage of the population. With that said, I have not had good luck with robust doses of melatonin. So far 10mg is the maximum I can tolerate on a daily basis.

Hey😌I will like to make a comment on your post, I’m so sorry☹️about your experience with keto rash, actually I have been doing the ketogenic diet over the past 9 years and I have never developed that kind of keto rash. I can tell you that I was trying to help my brother in law to get into Ketosis a month ago when he was on vacation in my house. He is diabetic so I thought that probably he needed to increase the fat intake to lower her insulin levels, he was already in low car so I helped him with all inflammation I had learned for many years of being in ketogenic lifestyle so 2 weeks later he developed that horrible keto rash, it was according to him very painful and he was kind of afraid to see his neck with that kind of rash. I was very worried about it. Fortunate it wasn’t the kind that developed a pigmentation and can be dangerous specially for people with type I diabetes. The Dr gave him antibiotics for it. He didn’t want it continue with this ketogenic journey so he when back to meds. My best advice regarding to this subject is this incredible person that I have been fallowing for the last 9 years and she’s my mentor and her information is so incredibly valuable that I recommend that you look into her KZfaq channel, her name is Stephanie the business person. Respectfully I suggest you contact her for a consultation or look into his hundreds of videos about ketogenic lifestyle, keto rash, metabolism and everything that you would like to know about ketogenic lifestyle. Stephanie safe my life🙏I trust her with all my heart ❤️pls look into her channel so much to learn about this subject.
