The shoulder joint is one of the most movable joints in the Human body. It allows the upper limb to have a wide array of movements. Take the following quiz to find out how well you know the joints of the Human body: khub.me/gkkoe
Oh, are you struggling with learning anatomy? We got the ★ Ultimate Anatomy Study Guide ★ to help you kick some gluteus maximus in any topic. Completely free. Download yours today: khub.me/tesqp
The glenohumeral joint allows a wide range of movement of the upper limb. It is associated with the shoulder girdle. If we compare the shoulder joint to the hip joint, the shoulder joint is built for mobility and is therefore less stable than the hip joint. The shoulder joint is, therefore, prone to injury. The main structures that keep the humerus and scapula in place are the ligaments and muscles that surround the joint.
On this video, we will cover the anatomy of the shoulder joint. We will go over all the relevant structures using english and latin terminologies.
List of topics covered on the video:
Articulations of the shoulder joint (glenohumeral joint);
Capsule of the shoulder joint - synovial and fibrous layers;
Ligaments of the shoulder joint: glenohumeral ligaments, transverse humeral ligament, coracohumeral ligament, coracoacromial ligament.
Muscles of the shoulder joint - rotator cuff muscles, deltoid, biceps brachii, latissimus dorsi, pectoralis major;
Bursae of the shoulder joint;
Blood supply and innervation of the shoulder joint;
Movements associated to the shoulder joint.
Want to test your knowledge on the muscles of the shoulder joint? Take this quiz: khub.me/emexg
Read more on the anatomy of the shoulder joint in this article, which also includes some important clinical notes on shoulder injuries: khub.me/1m5b4

A prof suggested to me to think of the shoulder joint more like a "golf tee" rather than ball and socket like the hip. I never forgot that. Helped me to remember how susceptible to injury the shoulder is.

Thank you, as a victim of a massive rupture of the rotator cuff and facing a full replacement of the ball and socket and tissue grafts to effect the repairs, it’s nice to understand the process and mechanism of the injury… weirdly, it has given me comfort knowing what all the bits are called and their functions. Bless you for your work.
@walterhartman3275
@walterhartman3275 Жыл бұрын
I had a terrible torn rotator cuff from a really hard fall, whereas I could barely sleep for two months because of the constant excruciating pain, but I wanted to find a better way and I didn't want to take any painkillers, because of my stance on them. I found a highly qualified massage therapist that found the muscles and tendons, and so forth (tissue? ligaments?) were shortened and stuck together around my clavicle and triceps brachii, while also concentrated attention to the acromion ridge. There are lymph nodes in some of those places, like under the arm, that should not be overworked by massage so it's important to get someone who knows what they are doing. Along with this, I did an ancient Qi Gong, Ba Gua basic beginning exercise from a highly qualified master that I had learned years before, called, 'Serving Tea to the Master,' which involves moving scapula energy around, and I made a natural 100% quick recovery without any surgery or any other physical therapy. Wish I knew it from the onset avoiding the 2 month of agony and torment. I also used generous ice and arnica gel. This moving of the scapula energy, which can be achieved through other qigong, tai chi, and kung fu exercises and practices nicely, heals, treats, cures, and addresses a great many other maladies and injuries, including for the mind and the spirit. THE HEALER IS WITHIN!!

Great video. Exactly what I was looking for to help my clients have a better understanding of what we are working on and how it works. I wish that the one diagram that you used with the full frontal, anatomically correct male wasn't so "accurate". It makes it impossible and inappropriate to use with some clients. If that's something that can be updated then the video would be perfect for everyone to view.

Really? If you leave out or blur the genitals, you're not teaching correctly. They're just parts of the body. We need to know what ALL of the body's parts are and how they work. Your squeamishness reminds me of my childhood in the Bible belt.
