Don't forget the manufactured 90° is really 2 x 45° bends and gives a better sweep than a right angle. Back in the olden days when I was on the tools we cut everything with hacksaws, so a Tee got 2 cuts, then the upstand was hammered flat. Have I missed it? I don't know. Have you done a video on your ink? I only have 2 tats but they both have massive meaning. I'm always interested in what other people have and what they mean.

When you started tray bolts from inside to outside with external nuts - I thought that looks gash! Obvs not important for 'normal utility appearance install but this is visible 'SteamPunk stylee' so some pre-thought would have helped + light trays against dome headed bolts = no problems! Good vid otherwise!

Would've been interesting to comment on how the spacings for the ceiling fixings were determined re weight/load of all the tray and light fittings, especially re the toggles used in plasterboard.

I have not done this sort before (well, I am not an electrician! 😂) but at 5:17 is it ideal to add a nut or bit of blue Loctite to prevent hooks from loosening?? And yeah I would do the same, lay it out on the floor before hanging, only if the room is empty 😀

Hi great video Being a plumber I can remember laying cast iron system on a raised walkway in the same way before fixing so fixings could be transferred to the ceiling positions with ease but if you’ve never done before it’s quite hard to comprehend Regards Lawrence Peters

When I say ceiling it was the structure above my head I believe it was cast concrete beams and concrete infill

A lot of specs actually say to use manufacturers bends anyway. Good practice and it has a gusset as standard. My opinion.

Am I getting this right, you are hanging all that from the plaster board on the ceiling😳😳😳😳. I am sure the fixings won’t pull out but the plasterboard is only screwed to the joists or whatever is holding it up. No way is that designed to hold up some cable tray.

Same here not much support on that tray prob ok if no weight on it. Have used the wire but on heavy duty basket tray.

They hangers are suitable for a weight of 280kg per one with a SWL of 56kg depending on the substrate they are attached into, it’s a balance of how you want it to look too I guess

@@alvina69 each to their own, I have used these for years and commercial installs and feel it looks cleaner, I have also used tons of strut and channel on nigh sub main installs. Each has a purpose I guess

@@brightsparkmidwhat is the weight loading of the tray where the hook passes through the hole. The wire hangers were never the problem. Not a problem if lightly loaded.

It medium duty pre galvanised tray, There are two types on the market. Both are galvanised but one is pre galvanised which comes in on steel rolls pre galvanised then made into trunking etc Or Post galvanised which is door in a bath of hot zinc after production, Both give different finished but I assure you that it is galvanised
