Wei Yi is a magician.I am becoming a fan.He is not like dubov(A mad Attacker), He is not like Anish(A pure positional Player). He has a balance in his game that is so beautiful to watch.More power to him.

Wei Yi is the youngest player to ever reach 2700 with an absolute monster trajectory before putting chess on the back burner when he enrolled in the most prestigious university in China. He definitely has the talent and can achieve more in chess if he focuses on it.

Nice to see Wei Yi back to his winning ways I saw his loss vs Magnus I think a lot of it attributed to rust since he’s not competed a lot since Tata Steel but just like Nordibek did in his tournament Wei Yi will probably be very strong in this event Great participants with Magnus Pragg and Giri competing as well

Wei Yi quit chess for a few years to pursue a promising career in computer science and only recently returned to chess. He’s one of the most talented players out there right now.

I like the universal rating system better than FIDE. Too many players game the FIDE rating system to appear stronger than they truly are, in my opinion.

Brutal match. By mid-game, Anish could have been given 3 moves in a row and still lost as his pieces were so out of position.

I have to agree. Jerry at Chess Network goes way more into analysis than Antonio. Agadmator’s Chess Channel strikes the perfect balance in my opinion. The comments are always interesting as well. Cheers.
