I had terrible anxiety the other night, I live alone and I'm 37. I watched this and it's literally one of the best movies ever. ALL the characters are great, it's hilarious and the message is so beautiful. It's not just a children's movie !!!!! Adults will get jokes too; in fact I believe they'll be even more entertained 😆 🤣 Absolutely fabulous 😉

I was 10 years old when this was released. Fond memories of being able to rent it out of the video shop and watching it for the first time (didn’t get to see it at theatres). Time flies!

Like Eddie Murphy said, the humor and great acting is timeless. Like John Lithgow pointed out, the humor was perfect because it made the adults and children laugh for different reasons.

The Spanish dubbed is even funnier Eugenio Derbez is his Spanish dub he said he met Eddie Murphy at the Cannes festival but he gave Eugenio the cold shoulder which was rude the Spanish version has more funnier jokes cause of Eugenio

Man I was 9 when this movie came out. I remember my older sister taking me to see it in theaters. Crazy to think its been over 20 years. And now in a few months Shrek 2 will be 20 years old too.

I really do think the films impact and message on DreamWorks is actually powerful as their thing is never judge by their cover there many times when have films with laughable premises like kung fu panda rise of the guardians and how train your dragon movies that no one thought was gonna be great blew everyone away and it exceeded expectations

Shrek 1 and 2 were masterpieces Shrek 3 was literally a pointless movie, it had no reason to exist, the plot literally hangs on for dire life on Prince Charming’s revenge plot and doesn’t do anything with it. If you watch anime, this movie is essentially “filler”. Shrek Forever After was a good movie, but it wasn’t a masterpiece.
