I would say that joint family is a complete hell for women.They are treated like slaves. I was born and brought up in a joint family but I had seen clashes more than happiness. The atmosphere was highly toxic and everyday saas bahus used to fight like cats and dogs and there was no privacy. The peaceful atmosphere I found later was in a nuclear family. Even after marriage I live separately with my husband bcoz I already decided not to marry in a joint family. My husband had already buy a house before marriage.

I used to suggest this solution from past 30 years but people want slave to dominate so they donot want to live separately. Some people enjoy day to day small fight as they have lots of energy and that is spice of their life.

How to deal with the mother in law who is too much dominant and never let daughters in laws have peace is a biggest problem. We are nuclear families but fight is tend to happen between the couple wherever she goes. My husband and his brother both respect her so much. Even me and my jethani also understand and respect that. Then also it happens that I console her when mil stays with her and she is an sympathetic ear to me when mil is with me. Specially in this covid time when we don't want them to stay separate but it is at the cost of our mental peace. Thanks for taking this issue.... I really admire

Been living separately from the joint family. But due to some problems I had to shift to my dad's JF. And since then all my problems started to reflect. So ultimately me & dad moved to a different address altogether in the same city. My two uncle's (dad's brother) family also took the same decision but moved not so far from their ancestral house.

Joint family me rahna chutiyapa hain bhai kabhi bhii na rahna , agar cousins hote hain toh unhme fights ho jaati hai , agar bahuen hoti hain unme fight ho jaati hai , ek dusre se jalan jalapa rahta hai , isse accha hai ki agal ghar ya flat me sukoon ki zindagi jiyo.

This is the solution where parents in the family are financially independent …but what will someone do if the in laws are totally financially dependent on the couple …no income whatsoever…and still does not corporate at all. Basically they are dependents so you cannot be separate because of the expenses and your mental health just gets broken because of living with them. Living separately is not poss and living together is hell.

I really liked this video sir. There is only one point on which I have a different view. You said towards the end that "ek baar shaadi kar leta hai toh uska status ek adult ka hota hai". I don't agree that marriage is necessary for a person to be considered an adult. Because there may be a person who chooses not to marry. So in my opinion, once a person is around 22 years of age and has a job, he is an adult.
