After practicing this for 4 hours straight while watching Rambo and the Truman Show, I have some additional tips in which he didn't mention: - The further away from the center of each packet that your index finger is (get it close to the upper right corner of the bottom packet and upper left corner of top packet) while leveling and preparing to 'faro' each packet into each other greatly increases the ease in which the packets weave; this is because, the higher up your index finger is while being pinched by the two packets, the more swing each packet gets and can mesh together at the tips better. - The condition of your cards you use to perform this impacts how easily the cards will weave, newer/slippery-er cards being easier. - You can weave/faro the cards with downwards or upwards pressure: I actually find it easier to pull down with my index, thumb and pinky finger (your hand would look like a talon or claw if the deck wasn't there while pulling down towards your palm at this point) as I'm trying to weave. Once they weave, the cards are already in position to apply the cascade pressures. - Practice, after about a solid 30min of trying you'll understand the move more and make your own micro adjustments suited to the size of your hands, the deck you use, etc. After another 30min you'll be able to get solid weaves and so on. I watched this this morning at around 10am and practiced it until 2pm straight and I'm still practicing while watching youtube vids and I can comfortably say that I got this shit down.

Still working through this, but to those struggling to separate the cards, I made it easier to do the motions initially by wrapping two halves in rubber bands, and it made it so much easier.

Years ago Ed Marlo showed a counter slight of hand artist name Stanley how to do this shuffle. It was in the middle 50's at an arcade, gift and magic shop on Randolph street in downtown Chicago. Ed had a professional shop in the back on the 2nd floor where he would teach the serious card mechanics the various slights much like John Scarne did in NY. I was fortunate to meet Ed up there as a teenager where the best card men in the country would often visit for instruction and demonstrations of their skills. I bought a few of Ed's books, he autographed those and I still have them. Stanly whos name was mentioned in one of the Marlo books taught me the one hand shuffle that you do so well here. He added a move that gives a little more control in doing the spread with the little finger and first finger playing an active part. Either way its a pretty impressive slight - thanks for your variation - also like the water fall flourish - first time I ever saw it.

Cards Daily I can do a 2 handed faro shuffle now but with one hand its just so difficult. I have pretty big hands too. Maybe the position i start my hands in just makes it harder for me to move the packs side by side

Here's a tip for anyone that was like me and just couldn't get the weave to happen. When you cut the cards, make sure one packet is smaller than the other. If it's the same size packet on each side , I find the cards won't weave, they buckle and bend. But if one side is smaller, it gives way and the edges collapse on each other and weave. Now I can do it almost every time. Small tweak but makes it work.

This is by far one of the coolest things I’ve seen that is moderately easier to do (not saying it’s easy by any means, just that it’s easier in comparison to some advanced cardistry moves).

Really useful tip: use a slightly worn/used deck it makes this much easier as the cards are less stiff and the bow on the cards also makes it simpler

This tutorial is really good just like most of 52kards tuts, i started learning the charlier cut with my tiny hands(really small) i used full sized playing cards. took me an hour and a half to learn charlier flawlessly, realised the problem was not my tiny hands. so i stuck at it then moved onto something more advanced, hot shot cut, after spending twenty minutes in the awkward position you start in i got it within the hour, not perfectly but at least 7 times out of ten it was really good.this however ive been trying for 2 hours constantly and it is by far the hardest thing ive been trying to learn. i keep trying to blame my small hands but i know this is simply not correct. i think im not aligning the cards right as the weave is not happening. any tips from a pro?

for all of you complaining about small hands. Richard Turner (who doesn't have very big hands) came up with a version where you do it longitudinal to get people to stop making excuses. your hands don't need to be big to do it. if you have tiny hands, all you need is finger flexibility. it will be harder. but definitely possible. no excuses.

I believe it was How to Disturb reality that I learned how to do this from. Took me MONTHS of practice. One thing I would mention is when trying to put the together is pull down or push up ever slow slightly so the cards aren't going in on a single plane....if that is making any sense.

I have small hands &this is how I do it. Cut the cards & have your index finger like the video, except you need to scoot your thumb down so that the tip of the thumb barely clear the cards. Angle so that the cards fall onto your pinky. Align the cards & apply pressure w/ thumb, middle, & ring finger to hold in place. Relocate pinky beside your ring finger. Relocate middle finger to the front and have the joint hanging over the top. Push packs together while middle finger pushes DOWN AND IN.
