This was a great movie. I remember when it first came out. I was very young. It impressed me a lot. I began helping others out that needed help. I'm now 72. The kids today need something to believe in.

Same story here Glenn, I remember seeing it with the family when it first came out. It's still a joy and inspiration to watch all these years later. I to am your age and still love seeing it. I found a free movie site on line and watched it months ago and had watched it several tines since. Unfortunately The site doesn't let it play anymore. Still such a great movie!

Great movie. Have seen it many times over the years. Have it on dvd, so always available to watch. Well deserved Academy Award for Poitier. Liila Scala should also have won. Stanley Adams gives a great performance as well. "I have paid the insurance". A lot of competition that year in all categories. My son saw it when he was 8 or 9 and enjoyed, he could not stop talking and laughing about the fried egg scene. This is a must see film.

Thanks. You made me pay attention to Liila Scala, she was born in Vienna, no wonder she could speak perfect german-like english, she definitely put passion and faith in her performance, and deserved the Academy Award as well. If Liila Scala represented the faith, then Poitier was affected by the faith, and Stanley Adams was moved by the faith from Poitier. It was a great movie! 🕹🎉
