Sierra Ferrell latest hit “Fox Hunt” is an immeasurable foot stomper.
In the Spring of 2022 we got to shoot this fiery performance at the Blue Bird theatre in Denver, CO. Sierra had invited Nick Shoulder’s and Okay Crawdads on tour. A near perfect pairing of such fine musicians taking the country world by storm. WAF was lucky to pull them off of their busy tour schedule for a two-parter video performance. While their last video of Webb Pierce’s “More and More” was pure fire, “Fox Hunt” is unfortunately the last of our videos together. But if the hype from these two talented peeps keeps climbing, I’m sure there will be more down the road. But more importantly, more Sierra and Nick shows will hopefully be happening.

She has been cranking out pure gold, and every single one of them is like an entirely different universe but still hitched to the American folk wagon. I almost have to listen to them spaced out one by one when they drop because it consumes my day. Songbird of the century.

I've seen nearly every recording of this song on KZfaq and something I've noticed is on that second verse at the end where Sierra says "cold river bend" she tends to mute her voice somewhat. I think it's because she's focused on her fiddle part. IMO that's a time to really belt out the words, especially when she has the very talented Josey Toney to back her on fiddle as well.
