I picked my p322 in April 2022 and have put over 3000 rounds through it and now its my trainer for my p365 x macro. The p322 and the x macro have the same grip but the p322 slide is slightly longer. They make it a fun day at the range!

Well now this was a interesting video and as far as my sig Sauer p322 goes, I have mainly only had the magazine issues in the beginning. I did have to learn how to properly load the magazines and that means you do not pull the follower down any further than you can just put one round in at a time let it back up put one more in and so forth, once I started doing that my magazines have worked almost flawlessly. As far as locking back on the last round fired I have been impressed with that part of the p322. I do know that you do not want to accidentally ride the slide with your thumb at all or this problem will exist for sure. The Red Dot sight that I have on top is a Holosun hs507kx2 and it has never came loose with blue loctite torque too 10 ft lb. I have probably fired a little over 2,000 rounds of all types of 22 LR ammo with no leading issues. I do know that there has been a lot of complaints on leading issues, I'm just glad for whatever the reason is that mine doesn't.

I bet you that’s exactly what he was doing during his testing of the Sig, he was riding the slide with his thumb or possibly had gloves on. Because of the fixed barrel and light associated spring, it is very easy to rack, which is a similar attribute to the Walther CCP 9mm. The barrel doesn’t have the strength to lock open if there is any other opposing force. It’s not a design error, it is a positive attribute of the firearm.

Same, i purchased one (manufacture date 12/13/2022) and have had zero issues. I cleaned and lubricated it new from box before shooting. I have only shot the CCI mini-mags which are copper coated lead and have checked the barrel several times and no leading as some report. I had a couple ftf at first and then started being more cautious when loading magazines and no problems since. I am very happy with mine and hope to install a Holosun 407k green dot on it soon

This magazine isn’t an issue if you pay attention to how the rounds stack into it as you load it. Load one at a time with pressure on each and make sure the rounds stair stack. One on the left side, next on the right side, next round on the left, next on the right and so on. They should alternate like such. If there are two together on the same side, you’ll have an issue. It’s a double stack 22. Just pay attention.

Steve, my gun light primer strikes about 4-5 Aguila 40 grain super extras per magazine. The 38 grain super extras not so. Are you having good function with the 40 grain or 38 grain, Or both? The magazines are weak link in the pistol for sure. Big Sig fan, own a few but this one has been a disappointment from day one. I'm trying to get a baseline on typical normal function before I send my gun back to Sig.

Okay, I just bought one at Boise Cabellas yesterday. After seeing your issue with the slide locking back and going into battery by looking at it I thumped the bottom of the Sig hard repeatedly and it stayed open. Sounds like you got a lemon. However, that shouldn’t be the case…hardly ever. I’ve always been careful loading my .22’s, so I’m not concerned about that. I have a Smith and Wesson 15-22 rifle that’s absolutely amazing. What made it go from great to greater was putting in an $18.00 Volquartsen ejector. No more failures to eject! One thing you didn’t dwell on that’s a real plus is the fixed barrel, similar to the Walther CCP 2.0. Excellent accuracy from this design, not to mention ease take down. I’m only going to use CCI ammo and I’m going to take care in loading my rounds. Hopefully it runs well for me.

I find the number of negative reviews surprising. I got a P322 last Christmas and I absolutely love it. I only use Thunderbolt 22 because I have always had the best luck with that ammo. It's hot enough to cycle any 22 rifle or handgun and consistent enough to shoot a solid one inch group at 50 yards all day long. (from my experience) At first I had a few feeding issues but it was always due to the way I loaded the mag. But it didn't take long at all before I figured out the correct way to load the mag and was loading it as fast as any other 22 mag and it works great. I'm rough with my guns, they get dirty, wet, covered in mud, ect. But I always do a deep clean when I get home after camping trips where they see all the elements for an extended time, disassemble the firearms completely and thoroughly clean them. I've now put close to 2000 rounds through my P322 and have nothing but great things to say about it. If you're considering getting one, do it. It's great, just take the time to make sure that you're loading the magazine correctly and you'll be fine. Take care of your firearms and they'll work and last forever.

Good review. Really good. On the magazine's being odd to load, I find the G44 and the TX22 have problems loading. I always use loaders, printed for each of these guns. I make sure it's on a hard surface, your thigh works, but a table or bench is much better. Only drop it enough to put in one round, then lower, and raise. It becomes a natural motion after the first few hundred. Works fine after that. Without that technique the Glock is terrible about nose diving, and the Taurus isn't good. I can't shoot lead without the copper wash in either of these pistols as they clog quickly. The TX is more reliable, though my G44 shows a fraction of the wear with twice the round count. I'm closing with eleven thousand rounds of cheap brand through the Glock and it works and looks like it did the first day. The TX is getting old fast. Both are very good guns. Unlike the Smith Compact which failed badly by 3600 rounds. And not in the same universe as my ancient Ruger Mark which has something north of twenty thousand rounds through it. I'm going to get a P322 soon, and I won't even use un washed lead.
@milspecmike8440
@milspecmike8440 Жыл бұрын
Disappointing to hear about the Taurus wearing. Any issues or is it just cosmetic? I bought the Competition SCR to shoot competition and I’m a regular at a monthly rimfire practical match and occasionally hit up a steel challenge match so it’s going to get a lot of rounds through it quickly. It already came with a Tandemkross extractor that is supposed to last and I plan to add their striker as well because I hear the factory will break over time, even though it’s a lifetime warranty, it’s worth the insurance to not have a failure during a match.

Those have less capacity and are a lot less staggered. Here again they are stack sensitive yes but if your competent when loading, none of the others give you 20 or 25 capacity out of the box. A quantum leap for rimfire shooters, if you choose the better ammo and get the rims stair stacked.

I would like to be helpful in this review by stating my personal experience with this firearm. I’m just over 1550 rounds in my p322. First I’ll say zero failure to feed issues. The magazines are very specific to load and when done properly you will have no issues but that does mean loading slowly and ensuring that the rounds alternate properly in the stack. Sights well no upgrade at this point for me and the only issue I have is the rear sight will drop and need adjusted because of the way it cams around mine needing to be all the way up for my shooting. Barrel leading well hell yeah I had that something terrible, however what I noticed was that during the cycling of the rounds the sharpness of the feed ramp and chamber entrance scrapped small slivers of lead that may have been dragged down the barrel. 20 rounds of browning 22lr and I couldn’t see rifling in the last inch of barrel. Now the last 1400 rounds through the pistol have been nothing but cci mini mag target and no leading at all just dirty 22 lr normalcy. A few failure to fires like less than a dozen, caused by not going completely into battery which result in just a slightly lighter primer strike all from build up preventing the round to seat all the way. Can’t blame the gun because two hundred rounds makes it dirty simple wiping the chamber and slide after a few hundred stops this from being an issue.

Great comment. The issues you described are normal for 22lr (other than the barrel leading - that's just ridiculous). Funny thing though, I have a frickin Taurus TX22 that has eaten every cheap or top shelf ammo I fed it with nearly zero malfunctions and the trigger is excellent. I thought I just had a factory fluke but I have met alot of different folks at the range who have had similar good experiences with their TX22's. Taurus somehow made the best 22lr pistol on the market for under $300. Weird times

5:21 HERE'S THE THING: The ONLY .22 load that caused leading of the barrel in my M&P 22 full-size (the one made by Walther in Germany, now discontinued) was the THUNDERBOLT, and I shoot a LOT of other non-plated loads. BAD lead build up... worst I've ever seen in a maintained firearm... after no more than 30 rounds (I was keeping a close eye on things during ammo testing). Note that I don't have a P322... yet. Wanted one as soon as I heard about them, but now I have to wonder. Of course, I usually DON'T HAVE or can find a workaround for the problems others complain about : ) And if the other load you're referring to is the "Golden Bullet", which is brass-plated, how could it POSSIBLY cause lead fouling, thus it may be a SOLUTION for P322s with fouling issues. Another option may be the poly-coated CCI "Clean 22", which I used to remove the final traces of fouling left by the Thunderbolts. Note that by "Clean", I think they mean with respect to lead fouling, since they leave AT LEAST as much powder residue as most loads. (EDIT: According to CCI: " ...an exclusive polymer bullet coating to greatly reduce copper and lead fouling in the barrel-without leaving a residue. It also cuts lead buildup in suppressors 60 to 80 percent." OK, cool, since it may also reduce the amount lead dust hitting you in the face, which can't be a bad thing) EVEN CRAZIER, on the M&P 22, I have three mags which have been upgraded to 15-round capacity (and two still in the factory 12-round capacity), but this caused a lot of failure to chamber on the FOURTEENTH, i.e., the NEXT-TO-LAST round. The round would porpoise up, hanging the bullet on the sharp upper edge of the chamber. TURNS OUT, the Golden Bullet, with its harder BRASS plating, eliminates the problem, probably due to the harder-than-copper plating. Just as strangely, the 12-round mags have no problems feeding ANY decent .22 loads. I've now had problem-free runs over 300 rounds with both the 15-rounders loaded with Golden Bullets, and the 12-rounders loaded with a wide variety of ammo.

Good review! I just found your channel. Good photography music and editing! Good info too, actual info and experience, and not just repeating someone elses sales pitch. I bought a P322 last year, and found it was unreliable. But, holding the mags upside down and loading them while keeping each round touching the next subsequent round prevents jamming issues. Mine came with the Romeo zero elite. Optic seems to last about a week if left on. I haven't replaced the trigger yet with the adjustable one that removes the slack. I haven't carried this gun defensively. Pure range toy and higher maintenance than my Mosquito, P22 and M&P22

It sounds like you got a broken gun. This review is essentially the opposite experience I have had with my 322. When loading the mags, you've got to use the included tool/ensure you are correctly double stacking the mags. When I first got it, I had an issue with the mags failing to feed- but this was user error due to my eager beaver attitude getting in front my my knowledge of how the mags are supposed to look. Keep in mind when you shoot this- you're dropping 20 LR rounds at a time. If you get a failure to feed/eject/other issue one in 10 mags, that's the equivalent of shooting 20 ten round capacity magazines with one issue.

Red lock tite on the optic screws. Take your time loading the mags so that the rim on top round sits in front of the lower round. And only load to 15. Federal Auto Match works great. Clean and oil it after every 500 rounds. Follow the above and you'll have great success with this pistol.

I was strongly considering the P322 but steered clear of it due to the barrel’s lead fouling issues and finicky mags. I went with the FN 502 Tactical and absolutely love it. No issues whatsoever from a round feeding/reliability and accuracy perspective. Only complaint I have is the suppressor height sights are blacked out and make it a bit difficult to aim with a red dot on dark colored targets, but that might be a personal preference/opinion kind of thing. Why wait? Just run CCI ammo, you don’t want to use the cheap shit anyway. Make sure you seat your rounds properly, meaning don’t pull the follower all the way down then dump the bullets in the mag. Don’t ride the slide with your thumb. Keep it clean…give it a light cleaning after every 500-1000 rounds. It should run like a champ for you! FYI, I whacked the hell out of the butt of the gun while the slide was open and it never once went into battery.

The sig is designed to be dry fired , no worries there . Also I could hear the recoil spring creaking when you racked the slide . The barrel needs to have a drop or two oil on the spring bushing . In conclusion not a bad 22 pistol at all . Will it last as long as a ruger mark , who knows ?

Blue thread locker and torqued to spec is my go to for any optic. No offense but you have to load the rounds correctly in these magazines to avoid feeding issues. I believe the other issues are the result of the ammo. Lead fouling in a 22 would most likely be caused by to soft of a lead alloy. Rounds that don’t fire but have a good strike on the rim, again is an ammo issue. The lack of alignment aids for the red dot is disappointing but not a deal breaker. The slide lock issue could be a magazine, but if every magazine is doing it, it could be the slide lock itself. I would send it back to sig for that issue. All the other issues can be avoided or corrected.

I hold mine upside down after loading them. Tgen releasing pressure, little shake, window inspection....no problems feeding. If you cant load the mag properly.....you need training. Dont fault the weapon for your stupidity. I love it. Its light, 20 rds, fairly decent trigger. But nothing really compares to my comp 1911 or walther p99. When it comes to .22lr ammo the priming compound does not always collect in the rim effectively to cause ignition when struck causing said “light primer strike”. I hope that answered your question. If you have any more please let me know. Thank you.

@@alphacentary i've done the same. All but 1 fired when i tried them. It just seems hard to believe that 1 in 30-40 rounds are kinda duds. Makes me glad i still have 30+ yo ammo. Does this new 22 ammo appear to smoke more that the older ammo?
@alphacentary

@@sog4646 I don't have older ammo to compare more modern ammo to sadly. My oldest box of .22lr is 16 year old Remington Thunderbolts and they are about the same as always been between then and now. However, I do know the amount of smoke depends on the round and brand. If the .22lr is lubed it will smoke a lot. Lead round nose .22lr will smoke some but not much, and I find plated smokes the least. Each brand will smoke differently as well. I know CCI mini mags work well and do not smoke bad. I can vouch for Federal Automatch as that ammo is what I shoot the most of and its Lead Round nose that does not smoke bad either. However, personal experience has kept me away from Norma Tac-22 as it is lubed and smokes badly. keep in mind all my testing has been done on an outdoor range and is purely anecdotal.

I was thinking it was light but compared it too a pile of others brass cases and it was the bullets ,and had oiled places that I shouldn't have and suppressed was gummed up after 200 rounds not bad for cheap ammo and a suppressed oily gun .

The failure to feed comes from the magazine. On 22lr double stack mags if it’s no loaded 100% right then the rounds won’t be seated correctly and will cause failures. Just like with the keltec cp33

It will take Sig a little while to iron out the kinks on this gun. That's just how it goes for new designs. Once they work out all of the unforeseen quirks it will be the best 22 LR pistol on the market. As of right now though - that title belongs to the Taurus TX22. The Ruger mk is a great gun but it lacks capacity and it's overly heavy compared to the TX. But the Ruger and the Taurus are definitely the best 22 pistols on the market

I do applaud your review, well done. I just don’t agree with all of your review. Also, remember that a fixed barrel will be very recoil spring tension sensitive with the wide range of RF ammo pressures. I use a 6lb spring for std velocity and subsonic and use the 8lb spring for HV. When using suppressor it’s dirtier than w/o especially with RF ammo. I have best results using mini mags,stinger, yellow jacket. I do not use any noncoated ammo and no federal or armscor ammo because I’m convinced they use the softest lead and cheapest/dirtiest powder they can source. Just my 4 cents

Is this channel new?? I’m only asking because I just watched your review on the sig p322. Honestly, the best review I’ve ever seen. The editing was great. The information was spot on. All the pros and cons were dead on. You did your homework. Did you do a review on the FN 502? I think you briefly brought it up in your p322 review. Which gun would you recommend of the two? I agree that the slide on the p322 is a mess. Needs to be fixed. Also the magazine for the p322 is garbage. So many feeding issues. I have an FN509 and I really put it up there with a Glock 19 if not better. Please review the - 1- FN 509 2- FNX 45 tactical 3 - FN 502 4 - P365 XL 5 - CZ TSO and the CZ Shadow 2 (comparison)

My p322 will not slide lock and has 5% light strikes with all brands of ammo. The 20 round magazines work OK if you load them carefully but the 25 round magazines DO NOT WORK reliably. It is very accurate and has no leading problems. I probably will not buy another SIG product.

Your experience implies the lead fouling issue is at least partly an ammo issue. Thunder Bolt is known to be a dirty ammo. I thought the guys who posted videos on the issue claimed it happened even with jacketed ammo? If using jacketed ammo solve the problem, I would still buy the gun. Jacketed ammo isn't more expensive.

FWIW- I don't have a P322 nor will I, but what works good for lead removal, get a "Chore Boy" pure copper kitchen cleaning pad. MUST BE pure copper, if you have a doubt take a magnet with you to the store and touch it to the pad. NEVER use a copper plated steel pad....EVER! Unravel the pure copper pad so you have long strands and wrap the strand around your bronze cleaning brush, not a tight wind. Then pass the brush through the barrel as normal and keep checking until clean. A warm barrel woks good,

My cousin and I rented a P322 at about the time you posted this review. With the exception of the issues with the red dot (none installed) we experienced every single issue you cited. I REALLY wanted to like it because I was planning on buying one for training; I ended up with a far less sexy/far more expensive Browning Buck Mark (with a red dot installed that co-witnesses with the stock BUIS). I'd still like to get one for when I have company but until they fix these issues, it's a "nyet." I'm hoping Sig gets this straightened out--we also rented a 365-380 that was a joy to shoot. 🤷🏼‍♀

That’s not it huh? P322 grip feels very much M18 small in feel as well as the 365. So for 30-40 buck (holster). You have a trainer for both 320 and 365. P322 upper is very 320 while grip mod is very 365. I know this because I shoot all 3 and have gained a lot by practicing in high volume with P322. I’ve not had the fouling with any good Luballoy coated ammo (CCI minimal and rem yellow jackets. Also Eley subs run without leading

Honestly fowling is generally bad in all .22's I've shot. The .22 platform is something I've always regarded as a gun that gets cleaned often. (I don't believe that for majority of firearms and don't clean majority of my guns that aren't "go-to" guns. I usually let them get super dirty and see where the fail rate is. With .22 rifles and pistols. I always clean between range sessions.
