Good comment but i found the musicl background distracted me from what you were saying.You dont need background music that much. Oh and by the way i have that lens and also the converter and they work great together.

I’ve been using this lens with my Sony A7RV for a couple months now and have noticed focusing issues. Specifically, while shooting wildlife, where the camera shows the focus tracker locked on the eye, you can zoom in and notice that it’s actually slightly behind where it says it’s focused. I’m not sure that it’s consistently behind but more often than not, it’s not dead focused on where the camera is claiming focus. I’ve updated firmware on both camera and lens which I thought helped a little but I could be wrong and it’s still off. In general my settings are 600mm, f6.3, 1/640 minimum, iso auto, bird auto focus, tracking area based on situation. (I’ve noticed the issue on other wildlife and even stationary birds). Im having a hard time finding anyone else with the same issue so it could be user error, although I don’t think so as there are times where it is tack sharp where it should be. My guess is that it’s a issue with the lens, but further testing with other lenses is needed first to confirm.

Another nice one Martin! given you had the 1.4x TC i thought i will also watch this on 1.4x speed just to be on the same pace .. hehe. Jokes apart. nice review. Would love to also know the low light performance of this lense - the sports model as the Contemporary one is a bit on the dry side for low light.

Thank you Scott, I shoot everything in 1080p much smaller files and quicker to upload. youtube auto tends to play stuff at 720p so I always go to settings when watching someone's videos and change it to best quality. Thought the kestrel in the snow would be a nice final touch that was also filmed handheld 🙂.

Having owned a Sigma 150-600 Since 2021 . I can honestly say ... the Tripod mount placement isn't worth a damn . Infact it's a design disgrace . because it offers zero stability to the lense . When on the tripod and whatever the target i focus on ... the lense shakes vibrates . Not only that the USB dock is a waste of money . Because Sigma has never once issued any firmware updates for the lense . I also at one stage looked into buying the TC . Didn't bother in the end Now am looking to replace .it with something that offers consistency
