Ssi psychologist said she is going to tell SS that she believes I’m eligible and that I should not be subjected to more tests because this is “becoming abusive” lol. I think that’s good?

The vocational told judge basically said i wouldn't last long on any job as a cleaner, packer, or wrapper and my lawyer asked about being a secretary and vocational worker said no 🤷🏾‍♀️ just gotta wait and see.

My hearing was an hour! Tons of questions. Lawyer says it went good. Just made it to step 4 of non medical review. Scared. Feels like it is going to be another denial.

@@beaulong3270 I wish you the best The judge asked my lawyer to change the date of the onset date to reflect me being closer to fifty which I agreed to but it also means way less back pay They make it so hard that makes you want to give up but don’t if you can

During the midst of COVID I had an over the phone initial SSDI application interview. However, the SSA did not process my SSDI application and instead SSA took it upon themselves to process me under an SSI application and down played my SSDI application. I appealed SSA down playing my SSDI application.

Hello. I recently found your channel and it's been very informative. I was wondering if I could get an opinion about my hearing with the ALJ. I ended up being very nervous and anxious. I forgot to elaborate or time-stamp a lot of my answers. This caused me to blank out a few times about some of my med side effects among other little things. At the end of the hearing, the vocational expert did answer some hypothetical situations where he did find jobs I could do 2-3 times. Afterward, my attorney asked the vocational expert if there any jobs where I had to take multiple breaks and still maintain employment. The vocational expert said he could not recommend any jobs from this scenario. After the hearing, I spoke with my attorney's assistant. Apparently the lawyer told the assistant my hearing went well. I asked what that intels and he said the lawyer has plenty of experience with this judge and he feels confident he may have won my case. I told the assistant how much I feel I tripped over my words or left details and numbers out, but he insisted I did every thing right and not to worry. Does this sound like I may actually win my case? I did avoid certain phrases like 'actually" or "to tell you the truth." I did not interrupt. I felt I was polite and honest. I know it's hard to tell without all my details and the fact every case is different. Nothing is guaranteed. I'm trusting my lawyer's team, but I would like an outside opinion. Thanks!

It's understandable to feel nervous during a hearing, and forgetting to elaborate or time-stamp your answers is not uncommon. From what you've shared, it seems like your lawyer was able to ask the right questions and elicit helpful testimony from the vocational expert. I'm almost 27 years old and becoming disabled due to some disabilities like GERD and Ehrler's Danlos Syndrome and Junior Arthritis and I'm unable to work. I've been unemployed for 7 months now and seeing the doctor regularly. Should I be receiving benefits for my symptoms? I feel like I'm having a hard time trying to get my life together.

Can’t get much from my lawyer but he says it went good at the hearing. He really wanted the judge we got. I am at step 4 on the website. Non medical review by the local office. Is that a good sign? So stressful.

Hello im new to your channel, and i have a question i believe that its very important, Earlier today my mother told me that social security sent her a letter asking her about me, Basically the same questions they asked me in my Reconsideration package Appeal.. Is there a reason why? They said they'd base their decision on i guess the answers she give i'm not understanding that so she said she would call them in the Morning . The portal is wrong 99% of the time. If you allege a mental health impairment you will see one of their doctors... Never believe the progress statements in the portal.

Dang! I'm at 46% and I've got to go to one. I messed up!didn't have any doctor appointment within the last 90 days for mental issues, so from what I've gathered from info that's why. I've got a medical exam too. But lookup about the mental exam because you will need to know the info that helps you best. Don't forget they aren't your friend or personal counselor. Good luck! Hope you get yours. I'm hoping I get mine 🤞🤞🤞 I really need this! I hAve a hard time just doing basic tasks, let alone depression and all that.

Was on SSI due to suicide / mental illness+ Than some lady over the phone mentions that I was "all better and able to work" when, this obviously isnt the truth. Have been working to get back on it (12+ years later) Ive applied 4+ times now, Denied each time. Last time was with a lawyer. This new case, Is with a lawyer from the help of atitcus. Ive been waiting 5years ,i went to the hearing and yhe judge called my wife in and asjed her the same questions she asked me which my wife had the same answers,then the judge said ahe couldn't help me if i didn't go to the doctors appointment she would set up for me,which i went to them both so hopefully she will help me ,ive been waiting 3 months since the doctors appointments to find out what is going to ve the decision.the 3rd time ive appilled the second appeal since i wash 17 im now 37..pray for me .. either way i wish you guys good luck and hope you get the help you need.

I have dyslexia and I can barely read and to even type this I have to use text to speech. I cannot write spell. I can read little words like yes, no on off Bed God home in car but not much after that do you think this would have any shot for a disability claim? I’ve already looked it up and dyslexia is a legal form of disability in the US.

I got approved for SSDI but I was never informed as to the official reason WHY I got approved (e.g. was it grid rules or did I meet a listing). Of note, I did get a notice of award but it never addressed the reason WHY I got approved. Is SSA supposed to tell you the WHY? I personally think in my own mind that I probably met a listing impairment but I'm not certain. I was approved on my first attempt 9 weeks from the initial application submission. I was 50 when I filed. 100% Permanent and Totally Disabled with the VA too.

If you get approved before a hearing, they do not disclose the reasons why you were approved.

@@thegoodlawgroup Interesting. I just assumed they would automatically let you know the basis of the approval or disapproval...oh well I guess I will never know. Now, I just need to complete my SSA phone appointment to add my minor dependent children who should get benefits based on my disability approval. Thank you for your response.

Im soon to be 65 next month and I had my ALJ hearing on March 28, 2023 The ALJ asked VE were there any jobs I could do with my past work experience. The VE said no first, then she said yes there was one job I could do. Then AlJ asks the VE how many of those jobs are in the national economy. VE said there were 4000 jobs in the national economy. Then ALJ asked VE if I had any transferrable skills. The VE said no. After that the hearing was over and I'm still waiting on a decision. What do yall think? Will I get approved?

Yeah it has to be written on a letter to be for sure.. they can call but most of the time, they don't need to call it will be by mail..SSA can see everything from financial institutions statements so don't worry they can see it all.. You banks, School, employments, Medicals, everything

Im 32 i been applying for SSI and ssdi for many years now.. i have a attorney, doctors paperwork from my PCP and my mental health provider both therapist and mental doctor.. but the question i have is i receive Medicare and Medicaid part A,B,C, and D since 2014 from my dad social security i don't pay nothing because no income more than one doctor signed me off form work, x-ray and more is that a good thing?? Do it helps my case to get approved??.. people ask why i get it and no benefits

Do you get a check from your dad's social security? If so that may be why you're not getting SSI. ssdi is for when you work and have work credits. The only way they would give you a portion of SSI is if you don't get the equal amount of what your state provides. It's what my son gets with having funds coming from his dad's social security and the rest covered by SSI. Hope that helps you understand better.

I was getting it for 3 or 4 years then they stopped it send a letter saying I'm to old to be getting it but I still receive Medicaid and Medicare of my dad's social security number.. and by the way on what I was talking about in the comment I got denied and my attorney was shocked for two reasons because of my condition and I got on my social security app it said denied about a month later after my hearing with the judge so she applied it been waiting about 6 months now.. it's at the appeal council

I had disability benefits before as well ever since I was a kid it got cut off during pandemic when I was 18 I'm now 25 and learned to apply so I did the lady asked on the phone was I on disability before and I said yes she put me on hold for 40 minutes came back and said I had appointment then she started saying since I don't have a bank account it's ok they have cards and it can be setup that way before the appointment is that a good sign? Also she told me to bring proof of disability my social security and birth certificate so is it possible that when she left she went through my past records?

@@Gettem_K_Spazzbecause when you turned 18 you have to reapply under the adult application. You should have done it as soon as you turned 18. My son faces the same thing when he turns 18 in a couple years. But I'll be there helping him. I hope you get yours fixed and your benefits back. Make sure you go to recent appointments regularly that shows your disability status on the appointment documents. Keep your application simple and match your records. It helps with the process. I got my son's that way without a lawyer. Now I'm working on my own.

My spouse did reconsideration and was ultimately denied as there wasn't sufficient proof of histories. Now she's convinced that she's supposed to wait a long time to appeal? Should I have her call you guy's as she never did start with representation the first time?

You can call us anytime. I would look at the language of the denial letter. It should say she has 60 days to appeal. Give us a call 847/577-4476.

@@thegoodlawgroup Yes absolutely, she did appeal and was denied again for same reason. Unfortunately she hadn't listened and gained representation. She now knows she has to have it and if I'm not mistaken she'll have to restart the whole 5 year process now. It's her own fault for not minding the writing on the wall, an appointed doctor even told her she'd better get counsel before proceeding. I'll have her call you guys.

I just checked my application status and it hit 100% saying that a decision letter was sent to me. Yet I downloaded my benefits verification letter from the website and that doesn't really tell me anything. Do I have to wait for that letter to arrive in the mail to find out what was the decision or is there any other way I can find out prior to the letter arriving?

Hello You will get a letter in the mail saying you were fully favorable then In about two weeks you will get the award letter telling you how much back pay how much the lawyer gets and the dates of when you will start receiving

@@Crazy-od8gp Hey what's going on? Well I used my veteran preference and it took still close to 3 and 1/2 months to get a decision. It was not favorable and I am now in the process of reconsideration/appeal but I doubt I will get anywhere with that.

It is a sign, but to be certain you should receive a decision and award letter in writing.

@@thegoodlawgroup Yes you are right. This is because the other day, I received a phone call from the SSA determination office and they left a message to call them back. Then I called them back, and they said the reason for the call was because they were having a hard time getting a hold of some medical records from a medical office and wanted me to call the office, to sign a release form; so they will beable to get hold of the records ( because of HIPPA). so they need them records, to be able to make a decision. I just hope the decision is in my favor.

@@sharpshooter7127 yes I was denied Feb 1,2023 for my disability. Then I hired an attorney and filled out request for consideration on March 2. 2023. I personally believe the whole process is setup/designed to deny you the first time and make it go all the way to an ALJ hearing for the attorneys to make money. Even my doctor told me, when applying the first time for disability like 90% of cases are always denied

Does having a service dog help? I have a service dog and my trauma counselor gave my lawyer a copy stating i need a need a service dog. Im 30 this will be my 4th try. My last apeal they said i cant go back and do my job.

Only if it prevents you from working which I don't see how a lack of movement in your 2 big toes would prevent you from working. It is very likely that you could work for someone like the Supreme Leader of North Korea and pick his nose or rearend at his request.
