Douglas Mccoy not that hard really, it’s just playing a Malk on the first playthrough is either spoiler-y or pure gibberish depending on your knowledge of the setting, atleast you don’t have to sneak everywhere and the dialogue options are mostly opened. Nos on the first playthrough is the actual hard mode.

She's not, not actively, if I got the meaning right from X's ramblings. She doesn't need to. It's just that he can't explain about the Malkavian Madness Network. But it's not like it's the internet, she can't pluck specific information out of it at will, but the information is there, because every Malkavian is connected. That's why he says "anyone could know". And yes, Therese is a 6th gen powerhouse, specially when it comes to mind games. It was funny when Suzanne tough she could get into her mind impune, like she does with everyone else...

I mean, not to justify her but Mark's situation is kinda different and it would probably be safer for it, from what I understand Annabelle's fight with Eleonor was precisley because she didn't want to turn her, and if she turns Mark it would be kinda incest.

Annabell's fight between her humanity and her beast leaves her less than consistent on certain issues. She is following the rule of taking the least sucky option in any given situation. But it is entirely possible that she is simply inconsistent because you know, that is what it is to be human, or kindred, or whatever.

Baby B is a huge hypocrite. But she knows and owns it. Context is more important than absolutes

I concur, but in that case it's a bit odd that neither Eva nor Jasper raised the alarm. I'd have thought that such a high-profile ghoul slipping the leash would be pretty high priority even given the recent turmoil. Let's recap who is in the know about Chloe: Fiona, Eva and Jasper for sure. Fiorenza and Nelli by implication: their ghouls did the rescue. That's a hell of a lot of kindred to "conveniently" forget about the existence of a ghoul who is blowing the Masquerade way open. Then we have Chloe's protestations tonight that she is "protected", which were not tested. Clearly, X or Annabelle could have killed her where she stood, so how is Chloe so confident? Or is she in fact ignorant of the danger she's in, like that screenwriter in VtM:B?

@@morgathing Now that you mention it, Annabelle and X really missed a trick by failing to probe her on that. But it went over my head on first viewing so that's fair.

@@VerticalBlank Without a doubt Chloe Is very cunning. Im not convinced yet that she has any real kindred protection and was probably bluffing. I wanna know whats up with Eva and Jasper too. There's no way they would approve of what she was doing. Which makes me wonder where they think she currently is. Looking back at all of Chloe's interactions with kindred that we've seen, I'm a little worried about how keen she is to be one of them. She seems to think it would be wonderful and is just generally way too naive about the kindred life. The idea of having to hurt people to survive doesn't seem to bother her because in her eyes she can "take out people who deserve it". I can see her either having a whole lot of buyers remorse after the fact or reveling in her immortality to the point she looses her humanity very quickly.

Not uncharacteristic of Jasper (he swanned off like a hot potato after leaving the note), but Eva generally seems more honor-bound than that. On the flip-side, the combination of Strauss being in town and how upset by making/reluctant to make a ghoul Eva was has certainly messed Eva up quite a lot.

I agree. It's gonna be interesting in who she will get to turn her, because she's not gonna stop until someone does.

I know it's been three years since this was commented but I just have to say, I think she's the most frustrating (if not infuriating, personally) character on this show, she says and thinks she knows so much because she does know way more than any ghoul sensibly should but she only knows marginally more than most individual kindred and understands absolutely nothing, she's like a 6 year old who hears her parents arguing and talking constantly and though she can relay all of what she hears she is completely naive to all of it. She's not necessarily a bad character, I just struggle immensely to understand what is going through her head to think any of what she's doing is sensible whatsoever, especially with the "I didn't say anything!" remarks constantly, I can't tell if she actually believes it or not, she's so evidently incredibly smart but has absolutely no wisdom whatsoever and I struggle envisioning a future where she lives for any more than a month from this point unless she's held ransom, then maybe two.

She is a journalism student bullshit is the bread and butter of all journalists

@@someq. she's not taking any of it seriously because losing jasper drove her insane with grief is how i see it. she doesn't care if she dies because she needs to be in his life, and if he won't let her, then she'll get as close as she can and risk her life to do so. doing all the investigating etc. etc. is just her falling back on a coping mechanism and using the skills she has as a journalist.

I think you have grossly misunderstood X as a character if you think he enjoys pranks o.O Sure Xander probably enjoys in-character pranks and or jokes, but X is a constant nerve wreck trying to stay sane enough to not die and/or have his friends die :P

Every malkavian is bound to prank. Its the people not getting the prank, not the prank not being there. They also „pranked“ the camarilla by letting half of the clan collectively change for 300 years to imitate ventrues.

@@Micras08 pranks are a thing in the clan. It's a left over from first edition, when makavians were connected to the Fae, but it's still a thing. It's just that those "pranks" are not a humor thing, but a sort of wrapped lesson, like making a rich man obsessed with money loose everything and need to live on the streets and stuff like that, and if the victim actually understands the moral at the end is secondary. I also think Chloe is Malkavian material, but I don't think her broadcasts would be a good prank. To direct, for one, and attacking the first tradition of all things is counter-productive. Malkavians are not stupid or suicidal, which is a common misconception apparently. Btw, what Therese is doing is 100% a big prank.

Also, "Pinky promise? I'm a vampire, this is legally binding" is one of the best phrases I've ever heard.

​@@MsYunaFires No freedom fighter's position has ever been "you can do and say literally anything". Annabelle has never advocated doing away with the Masquerade. Anarchs have always generally upheld it.

@Paul Gauthier Hm, I disagree, actually. It's very true that Anabelle as a character is incredibly idealistic and those ideals are based on "everyone should have free will". Her options with Mark were "I let him have free will and make his own choice, or I violate his will and take away his choice by brainwashing him." Same with Elenore. She was fixated on becoming a kindred to be with Anabelle. Now, Anabemme can try to reason with them, but like all characters in a drama, these guys are stubborn TO THE POINT OF TUCKING ABSURDITY. They CAN'T listen because it destroys their narrative. It would make the World of Darkness less dark. That can't happen, ever.

I think an additional note about Annabelle should be put forward here. She actively PUSHED Jasper to contact Chloe but takes no responsibillity for what has happened after he did. I know, Jasper is at fault for actually doing so, but I honestly think he wouldn't have if Annabelle hadn't hinted and pushed.

The overall theme outlines and willingness of cast is fine. I think it is more about budgets and politics of who controls/owns the charachters and creative process. Similar happened with Tabletop and wil Wheeton. I much preferred his show to game the game. But Becca is more attractive :)

Actually the availability of the actors is a constraint as well. I mean almost all the women are A. stunning looking and B. very capable at their craft So I would not be surprised if they got whipped up by TV or a movie.

Agreed, I find the whole "Chloe/Archangel" character and plot line to be really just totally immersion breaking and the only part of the story I would say was straight up negative to this great chronicle and production.

1 Chloe passed from Fiona to Eva long before Fiona got snatched by the inquisition. She got abandoned by Eva, not by Fiona. 2: Jasper washed his hands off the whole situation right away, ever since he left the note and then didn't pay attention to what that caused. Eva, it's a bit weirder that she wouldn't care, but I guess jealousy might have done that to her? Abandon the dangerous ex? 3: It might be all those ghouls, since they're everywhere and apparently talk a lot.
