Your amp board videos helped me tremendously sir! I spent days trying to route all the wires and cables so it looks clean and to make it very easy to remove if needing to go back to factory. Almost like a form of Tetris! I hate Tetris! But it had to be done. Thank You.

Perfect timing - new car in about 2ish weeks. Stopped by my local audio shop just to meet and talk with the guys there yesterday. No more installs for me - dashes suck now!

Newer cars cost a lot to work on to audio shops just quoted my buddy 700 in labor 800 in items and they are trying to charge him twice for loc7i 115 and then also labeled it as a processor with the amp he’s installing totaling up 500 for the amp alone

@@thatguykai479 Yeah I noticed prices have gone up and I live in California so already not cheap. My car basically died so I just junked a car a few months ago and got $3k so this should be about the same. That's the $ I'm gonna use to have them do the whole thing....I'll get what I get but it'll be better than stock!

@@thatguykai479my $3500 in equipment warranted a $3000 labor estimate. About to tackle full install myself in a few days. I'll keep that $3000 in my pocket.

If you have a info center HU that can't be removed without great hassle and will lose premium car controls even if you replace it with the most expensive aftermarket HU and harness, you can always add a second source ie-smartphone-smsl-dsp-amps-speakers/subs. Not the cheapest route but you can have two separate stereo systems, an actual good sounding one and one for gps, radio, chimes ect. Preserving most of the factory system and going with a second source makes more sense to me with a "new car" with a HU that is integrated into everything. Then again I'm crazy. Not sure why anyone would dig into the dash. The entire dash of almost any auto is an awful place for speakers. I can see tweets for a 2 way system and maybe a small mid added in a pillars for a 3 way system, but 99% of factory locations are garbage. With a second source the only factory equipment that needs to be removed are the front door speakers. That's where most of your budget should go, speaker pods, soundproofing behind them and good components. Then a subbox in trunk or rear. Absolutely no reason for rear speakers whether 6x9, a second set of components, midbass, whatever. Only low hz subs should be behind you. Check my channel in the near future I plan to document and video my entire install. Got a lot of great advice from thos channel for power options and using the proper accessories and tools ect. I wouldn't have even gotten this far without thos channel and DIY mobile forums.

Many modern cars, especially EV's, use 2 ohm speakers. Not to many manufacturers or reviewers like yourself touch on those speakers. I'd love to see some reviews of 2 ohm component and coaxial speakers.

I really prefer the c2 and above series from JL audio. They just sound better than the c1 speakers over all.

Had the OG c1's for 3 years in an older yukon. Just picked up a new to me f-150 and saw JL released these. Installing them tomorrow, interested to see the sound difference!

These look very impressive. I just bought my c2 6.5” and 6x9” along with jd400/4 because they have a silk tweeter over the c1’s. this would have worked as well.

@@CarAudioFabrication it will go in a 2016 Toyota Corolla. The older ones have given up. I plan to use a t-harness for the amp and then do some sound deadening for the doors and then back as well. Your videos have been a huge help learning everything. I am waiting for the mounts and harness to come in and I should be good to go. Let me know if you have any comments on the build. Mark, my front stage is admirable to start. However my low end "kicks the snot" out of it! So, two options-use my Epicenter bass knob, and simply take a little bass out, to ensure dynamic audio, or turn my front stage up to compensate! I got a set of Kappa components, running at 2ohm. Will adding kick panels in order to add a second set of Kappas be overkill sonically? Kappa tweeters are especially bright to begin with. Perhaps a softer tweeter!?

@@rynev3392 OK. To each their own. I use to install rearfill but then tried true 2 channel front theater only minus powerful subs in trunk. Never goimg back. IMO and most audiophiles opinions whatever that is, rearfill is the devil. For big crowds in the auto I can understand but so much is lost, or more accurately ruined, by rear fill.

@@VirtuousWarrior-wr2fv I’ve never heard a sedan with front components and rear deck 6x9’s and subwoofer that have all been DSP tuned and time aligned. I would think it can sound good if done right. But it’s hard to find a similar car with the setup I’d like to do…. My brother has a nice Focal speakers and JL Audio vxi amps setup in his SUV, but it’s just a front stage 3 way, so it’s not a apples to apples comparison to my car

@@rynev3392 dsp is mandatory for what you're trying to do, I use one always. My smartphone to smsl to dsp to speakers/subs. Optical all the way to dsp in then very short JL premium rcas to amps. Your goal or experimenting isn't inferior to front theater L-R 2 channel, it's just no matter how you tune you'll always have rear stage interfering with the front. If a surround type stage doesn't bother you then it's not even an issue. It's just ever since I stopped rear filling I enjoy the effect of front theater only much more. All opinion and preference. Another plus with no rear is more budget elsewhere. I'm just about to install a new system in a few days, will take a good week or two, will upload full install and hopefully CAF here will let me link the playlist somewhere. Waiting on accessories for electrical upgrades ie-dual batteries, smart isolator, power amd speaker wires, connections, fuse blocks, fuses, ground bus ect ect. Almost a grand just to upgrade car's electrical. Like he always says here you have to compromise in some way no matter the budget. Good luck.

why do the C2's kinda mute/muffle the sound when they're either getting 2 hot orrr something else is wrong, or are they built 2 do that 2 protect them.

probably cause ur not sending enough power to them.. a car stereo cant handle these on high volumes..

My question is that most factory systems run their speakers at a 2 ohm load. How does that work with the speakers being At a 4 ohm?

You're basically cutting your RMS in half so if your system puts on 100s to each speaker you're basically cutting that to 50 Watts RMS because of the difference in ohms. My Jetta G l i are wired the same way

@GLI_1701 If it's an amplified system that wouldn't matter since the sensitivity is so high. A non amplified system would probably suffer though.

Tney would sound awful at 2ohm. Need an aftermarket amplifier to run 4 ohm speakers. Depending on your auto there are various ways to interface amps into factory system.

U can also get a 2ohm component set.. JL is a bit pricey anyways.. u dont get as much bang for ur buck.. (sponsored channel).. But there are 2ohm sets out there from different brands that will work a lot better on ur deck without adding a amp (or even 3ohm sets with high impedence).
