Instant Barfi/ Halwa
Preparation Time: 5-6 min.
Cooking Time: 15 min approx.
Serving: 3-4 people.
Ingredients:
1. Gram flour 1.25 cups.
2. Semolina ½ cup.
3. Sugar ½ cup.
4. Ghee ½ cup.
5. Green cardamom 4-5 pcs.
6. Mawa ½ cup.
7. Water ½ cup.
8. Some sliced almonds and pistachios.
Procedure:
9. In a pan add sugar and water. Cook on medium heat until comes to a boil. No need to get 1 string. Turn off the heat. Grease a tray with ghee. Spread ghee evenly on each corner.
10. In another pan dry roast the semolina on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Add some green cardamoms.
11. Add the gram flour. Dry roast on medium-low heat for 5-6 min until a sweet smell comes.
12. Add ghee. Fry it nicely for 4-5 minutes.
13. Turn off the heat and add the sugar syrup. This will help to prevent getting lumps. Stir quickly to make it smooth.
14. Now, turn on the heat to low. Stir continuously. Within a few minutes, it will be ready. Add mawa and mix it nicely. When it starts to form like a dough and the color at the bottom of it becomes white turn off the heat.
15. Immediately transfer it to the greased tray. Level it with a spatula. Spread some sliced almonds and pistachios. Press to set the nuts.
16. Leave it for 2-3 hours at room temperature. No need to refrigerate. Before that mark the pieces with a knife.
17. After 2-3 hours. Cut the pieces and dish out them.
