@@stu9stu9stuyea, so glad that the organizers finally came to their senses and eliminated push starts- not sure what year that was though, but I know they finally changed the starting procedure after someone in the 250 class almost died after being hit from behind

@@pasko59000 yea, that and few other things as well- I was lucky enough to race a TZ750 for 2 seasons ('80 and '81 in the AMA Formula one series, and it was more of just having respect for the bike rather than having big balls, (although that was a big part of the equation) because it you got it wrong, it got very ugly pretty quickly-

What a miserable day that was. I spent all day sat under a huge golf umbrella at Club shivering, my abiding memory was of a guy with his helmet perched on top of his head making his way, one step at a time, up the long, steep muddy bank next to us holding on to two plastic pints of beer for dear life. Biggest cheer of the day from the crowd when he made it to the top.

I was there I rode 370 miles round trip in that kind of rain and I could barely see the motorway , and saw Freddy consistently powerslide his way onto the start finish straight , fantastic ! What a great upload , many thanks !

Thanks for posting the 1985 British Grand Prix! I was stationed in UK USAF. We would have ridden our bikes to see the race but we didnt want to get wet. Good thing we stayed home. It was a miserable race raining cats and dogs! I remember like it was yesterday..thanks for the memories

Spencer's best year...1985. Riding the 250s and 500s back to back caused injuries to his wrists that seem to plague him forever. Like Murray Walker said, Spencer was in a class to himself in '85.

WOW!!! just incredible and so so magnificent/ I love the honda v4s so much I own one,,, all these guys and the manufactures did it without the use of super computers but with a drafting board and #2 pencils and we still use that areas tech. I have deep deep respect for the riders and those who built these magnificent machines

I was there, bussed/ hitchhiked from Cheltenham. Arrived at 5 pm, it started to rain and didn’t stop for 24 hours. I borrowed a tent from a friend which was not waterproof??? This was in bloody summer!

Fast Freddie Spencer road raced as a kid. Great style and control all while WFO around the track. Class act with the skill and balls to become World Champion. At his peak he was at least as fast as King Kenny Roberts.
