As an American, I haven’t had any trouble with my Fanatic equipment. I have had a couple issues with cables some years ago that they quickly resolved. I know it’s fun to hate companies, but at the end of the day I think they have been pretty good innovators for the industry. It seems like most of their products just work (for me) and am rather happy with the quality.

I think they are lacking in the innovation department but mostly the quality is solid. The trouble seems be when you have issues, as their after sales support seems to be lacking, based on what many people have told us. And of course, the delivery issues with people waiting half a year for products after ordering them does not help the image of the company either.

@@WromWrom re-reading my comment, I wasn’t excusing them for the situations they have created for themselves, what I failed to clarify is: I hope they stick around and are able to recover for the long run.

Happy DD1 user for 3y .. only one little repair of a broken pin inside the quick release just after 2 year warranty. Fanatec repaired it free of charge and I got it back after only 1 week.

I am from Australia and so far so good. Bought a DD1 on the black Friday sales and received it with in two weeks, I think most of their issues are in Europe, which is where you would think would be the easiest to deal with. I have never had to deal with customer support. Overall quality is ok. By ok I mean it does what it is supposed to do. Almost all if not all Sim Gear is a massively over priced.

Very entertaining. As a hardware supplier, let me say that the SIM business is incredibly tough and if Fanatec can't make a handy return I'm screwed.

We think it's not that the sim business is tough for Fanatec, but that they have been investing and spending (sponsoring the Gran Turismo film, bannering several SRO championships), let's say poorly. Tried to bite off way more than they can chew in reorganising and moving sites last year, and it's all been too much, especially with the demand that Fanatec had at the time, not being able to fulfill those orders meant cancellations, and negative PR. Which seemed to cause the sim-racing equivalent of a bank run, which made the issue look even worse. You definitely have it harder, but you're also not throwing money and credit at things that have no definite ROI.

@@EikeSkythey’ve fallen in the usual trap of forgetting at some point you have to pay the bills with the money coming in, not buy sponsorships.

I’m in Dallas and I have received every single order in 3 or 4 days. Never any problems with them, going back to 2011.

Im not going to let this effect my Fanatec purchases...they ship fast and the quality is there I understand some Black Friday folks are still waiting for a couple items...but that isn't indicative of the company as a whole.

As an Australian I can confirm there is absolutely nothing wrong with Fanatec’s logistics or customer service at all. Less than 1 week delivery one month ago. They are the one of the few I would trust to still be updating their software 2 years later or providing console compatibility. Stories of delivery issues are sensationalised to get views. Fanatec are like a BMW, Mercedes or Audi compared to a Great Wall Motor go-fund-me startup. Sure, everyone wants to jump into the latest wizz bang electric vehicle but what happens when the high tech batteries are out of date ? In one or two years from now Moza and SimMagic will be old news. Without support, what happens to all the old dead hardware if everyone jumps ship every few years? The manufacturing quality of Fanatec’s hardware and sales to the console market will guarantee they keep a decent market share despite the influx of newcomers.

Lucky you, in the US, their customer service has always been an issue. I have been buying since 2017 and customer support is always horrible. Their La Mirada warehouse is just an hour drive from my home but I don’t understand why they always delayed my orders for many months. I guess some are lucky and most are not. So if you can confirm nothing is wrong with Fanatec, then why are they in this predicament right now.

Did the Fanatic management go to the same economics school as the Motorsport Games management did? Those are eye watering numbers for something that is essentially a very niche market, back in the day when I ran a business and we cornered a similar niche style market, our numbers were in the hundreds of thousands, not millions. Sone people are high on something or living in cloud cuckoo land.

At least the rest of the management is working on turning the wheel before the company crashes. Which in my opinion MSG did far too late. And I don't think Sim Racing is as niche as some think. Specially not after the motorsport industry has woken up to what sim racing may bring to them...

I gave up on Fanatec. I was tired of waiting months for anything to arrive, and the customer support was nonexistent. I'm done with them. There are better options out there.

Well, we offer informed opinions, not a clear path into the future. Because if our crystal ball would work, we'd be slurping Banana Daiquiris in the Caribbean (and sim racing)
