To be fair, it'll take Reiza a while to deploy the whole of IMSA. But maybe they'll do an "IMSA Pack" after that?

I've been racing online AMS2 for years. it's the best in VR. Online is so good. I can't wait for more features online, but honestly im so grateful for what it is. I don't touch any other sims.

AMS2 should really be taken more serious with all this new shat coming in the 1.6 update and how easy modding has become. It's already #1 when it comes to VR for me..

I think one issue it has is that multiplayer is still unreliable and very constrained. Not for lack of trying by Reiza, but the code seems to be difficult...

I've raced all of the sims. Asseto Corsa is my favourite. After coming from Race room, Asseto Corsa & even Iracing. Something is off with the AMS2 handling and even though I race exclusively in VR which AMS2 does the best I end up back on the other sims after a short while. I really wish they would sort out the slidiness of their cars.

Just pulled the trigger and subscribed. Should've done this long ago, you guys are a great source of racing sim news. And yes, count me as someone else that's eager for the AMS2 1.6 update. The couple of cars that have the new tire model are great fun to drive. Sure hope the improvement will be across the board as some cars atm are simply undriveable (here looking at you, Mclaren supercar)

Welcome to the family! It's mindboggling how Reiza are going deeper and deeper into the physics simulation. And the partnership with IMSA is reeling in nice content too. I so hope for Sebring...

@@WromWrom Yes, Sebring! Also hoping for Mosport Park, as a Canadian. The IMSA horizon looks superb, can't wait for this to be implemented, even if it's a long term thing. But my main anticipation is for a (hopefully decent) single player career mode. As someone that doesn't care much for playing online, an offline mode is badly needed. Not sure if will be part of the 1.6 release but they said it's in the works.

I'd be surprised if there's even an inkling of the career mode in 1.6, and I don't remember communicating any start of work on it. But I may be misremembering. I've asked the devs so I can answer for sure.

Soooo... Reiza unofficial answer is "no comment" to that, while not wanting to give an official answer. Do with it what you want, but it seems it's nearer that we at wromwrom thought.

@@WromWrom Wow thanks for the quick checking on this, and by quoting the source directly. The no comment from their part isn't unexpected. They have their hands full atm, I can only imagine the amount of pressure they're under to complete the implementation and testing of the big 1.6 update. Add the whole IMSA demands and Reiza is very much forgiven for prioritizing things as they see fit. And I was mistaken in thinking there would be a career mode this soon. I believe now that I shook my noodles a bit that it is something they plan to work for next year and even that info was a bit on the vague side. So yeah, as much as I'd like to see some sort of offline challenge, I'm more than content waiting it out as in the meantime plenty is coming our way. The amount of additions these guys are delivering is more than enough to keep their customers happy. For anyone impatient enough to disagree, just look at the competition and what little they deliver, if any.

As much as I'm looking forward to new AMS2 content and physics updates, I can't wait for the option to hide content I don't want. There are a few tracks and a lot of cars I never want to see again.

Weight transfer/mass/inertia is what is needed for AMS2. Right now, even with the 1.6, you can whip the front end of cars back and forth like pointing your finger. That's what destroys the sense of realism for me. Still arcadish.

"Soon" :-) I can tell you the 1.5.9 version is in closed beta, so maybe in two weeks? Be aware software development can wreak havoc on any date you set AND Reiza are know for treating release dates like suggestions made for other people :-)
