* Update: • SimJack Pro - adjust, ...
Hi!
I know the title of the video is a bit controversial, but don't worry SimJack is not Heusinkveld, even with their elastomers 😅
Anyway, the elastomers gave an excellent effect compared to what was at the beginning.
Although I mention it in the video, I will also write it here, Heusinkveld elastomers do not fit SimJack pedals without enlarging their holes. This can be difficult to do because they react differently than most elastomers.
If you already have SimJack pedals or you just want to buy them, I recommend watching my previous video:

For those who are not aware, WD40 is a penetrating, cleaning, and freeing oil. It is not a lubricant and leaving it on anything will attract dust and grit. That is why using dry lubricant (PTFE or Silicon/PTFE mix) is so important. On high wear parts with a lot of movement in many dimensions, pack with lithium grease. You should also use a thin layer of lithium grease on the ends of each rubber; you will thank me later!
@MR.EVERLOST

I already heard about lithium grease and totally agree :) Good to share knowledge 🤝 all people who read comments for sure can follow this and also get benefits.

How about silicone grease? I read that dry lubricant doesn't last very long? Also, Is it safe to apply PTFE and Silicon lube on these elastomers(plastic)?

@@LymarkW sorry but I don’t know… I also never tried any kind of grease on brake pressure pin or elastomers.

Are you sure that lithium grease you use is not petroleum based? Cause it will damage plastic and (maybe) elastomers. Silicone car parts (like intake pipes connectors) are probably petroleum proof. Or if I'm wrong, please do correct me.

That mod looks top notch and using HE custom elastomers is going to be great. I am just trying out a full spring setup which is a huge improvement. I like what you do here at the everlost Channel and have subscribed 👍

Good feeling with only springs system is hard to achieve. That’s why for example VRS use special lever which change progressives of the spring. But with you luck with this idea 😀 Maybe one day I will build whole pedal set again but for now I want to focus on racing 😅 diy took to much of my attention in last two years. Thanks for sub 🙌

Best thing to do is replace all the elastomers with die springs of varying stengths. They remove the issue of elastomer relaxation dropping loadcell input reading. A nice progressive feel can still be achieved by using multiple short springs of increasing stiffness
@MR.EVERLOST
@MR.EVERLOST 9 ай бұрын
Yeah I know about this but for now I will still use elastomers. Like this feeling and HE elastomers are good enough to stay with it a bit. I know about this problem with elastomers but it became more popular after RBM video. Cool solution was made in VRS brake but for now I just want drive a bit instead of neverending tweaking 😅

Hey mate, did you do the spring mod on SJ ? I'm about to order die springs from Ali to do exactly this, replace my SJ pro rubbers with springs.... any suggestions on colors and lenghts? So far in the cart I have Green (Heavy) 20mm, Red (Medium) 25 and 35mm and Blue (Light) in 20 and 25mm....

@@fredmethot6116 I have csl elite v2 pedals. Replaced my elastomers with a green and blue die spring. Each 25mmx25mm. I would say the blue spring was roughly equivalent to a 65 shore elastomer and the green is roughly equivalent to an 85 shore one. That will change depending on spring diameter and length of course. As a rough estimate I’d say the yellow springs would be like a 50 shore and the red is like a 75. I believe the simjack pedals use all 65s.

hear me out, would it be a theoritic posibility to remove sim jack electronic parts like load cell and pots, and replace them with fanatec's from the v3 pedals. therefore allowing you to use these pedals on a fanatec base?
@MR.EVERLOST
@MR.EVERLOST 9 ай бұрын
I did something similar with T3PA in the past but I designed whole construction to fit all electronics. Today I think it isn’t worth it because it is expensive, time consuming and still you never know how it will work. I was happy with it for few years but I don’t see the point of such projects anymore. I guess you want to use it with console. If so, you probably heard lot of times that better way is upgrade it to PC and than use stuff from other brands. I think the same. PC gives possibilities, you can easily use Fanatec base with other brand pedals, shifters, handbrakes etc.

@@MR.EVERLOST yes I saw your other video before asking here. I was really impressed but I think you’re right about it not being worth it. There’s rumors of a podium pedal set coming out soon, also, the v3 are would probably be better than some Frankenstein build using it’s electronics.

@@TheBbarrow79 Be careful with using the He Ulti+ Upgrade Kit. The SimJacks are not a true 1:1 replica of the Hes like some other pedals are therefore the bushings, axles, elastomers, shaft length, diameter, etc. may not fit the SimJacks. Also, the He control box doesn't work. I tried it on 2 different sets of my non-SimJack pedals which are true replicas of the He Ultis.

Custom order in spring factory 😬 This one from venym is longer but maybe it is also good: venym.com/collections/rubbers-springs/products/brake-spring The key to success is spring with limiter inside. It gives you short spring compression and really cool feeling but it is not necessary. It is rather nice to have than must have.

Since Heusinkveld does not make this information public, I don't think it would be right to post it here. If you need this spring for your own use, someone will surely share this information with you privately 👍 Also note that you may not need it at all. Often the preload spring is replaced with an additional elastomer or is completely blocked by metal coil. As far as I remember, it can be seen on one of Heusinkveld's videos, which are in the description.

I got the ACTUAL Heusinklveld Ultimate clones. They're not SimJack. I got them in black (so dumb that Heusinkveld doesn't offer then in black). They're basically identical to the Heusinkveld Ultimate non-plus. The throttle is so insanely smooth. 200 Kg load cell, 130 Kg max limit. Authentic German Fibrolast bushings / rubbers. Authentic Mavin loadcells, etc. They are TRULY the Heusinkveld Ultimate clones. Using FreeJoy, you get all the control - and more - that Heusinkveld (and other companies) offers with their SmartControl software. I don;'t know why every one only talks about the SimJacks and not these other ones. These non-SimJacks are proper He Ulti clones.

In other words, it's still much easier & cheaper to simply buy higher-end pedals then to mod some of the cheaper ones on the market (of course, I respect the effort that went into modding these or T3PAs, but it's definitely not for me).

I totally agree with you. I like to say „pay once, cry once” but here I trusted people who wrote only good things about SimJack Pro pedals - thats why I share my thoughs in this and previous video. Unfortunately, the product straight from the box has some shortcomings for people who already understand what it's all about. The product is cheap, but to be really good, it needs a little help. Still, if I had to choose (in this price range) between Thrustmaster, Fanatec and SimJack Pro pedals, I would choose SimJack Pro with mods.
