Deeney was right when he said that Dabo was a kick away from the premier league six months ago, the player clearly has some major confidence issues as a result of that day and is now playing for a team at the bottom of League Two as a result of that. Dabo needs building up, not having his confidence shattered to pieces publically like this; Deeney failed miserably as a manager and coach by doing this to the lad.

Daba reminds me of back in 2018 when Mourinho was apparently a bully for wanting more from Pogba, Marseille etc. Of course everyone loaded on him - problem is he was proven 100% correct. Deeney's approach was wrong, but to absolve Dabo of all blame is typical now of society where people think authority figures should take the blame and there is no need for individually holding your hands up and taking responsibility.

I think martin was right. Even saying that to the player in front of everyone else in the dressing room about missing that penalty was poor management. There is no plus side to doing that. Deeneys 'logic' simply doesn't add up, if the opposition are pressing high then the RB should pop it into the midfield, who moves it out to the left, great but the if the opposition is pressing high, the path/opportunity to 'pop' it into midfield is blocked! Its utter madness can you imagine Deeney on MOTD saying its easy to beat a high press, you just 'pop' it into midfield. As for digging out the RB, the kid missed a penalty in the biggest game of his life, there hasn't been a day or night since then, that he hasn't thought about it, blamed himself for missing it, wishing he had scored or not even taking it, and Months on a manager with a big profile and an even bigger ego, doesn't just mention it in the dressing room in front of the other players but to the press. Deeney is a legend in his own mind.

To be fair Iv been watching cov for a good few years and dabo started off well but he has completely fell off a cliff hence why cov let him go for free and he’s at forest green. I hope he pulls him self together. There is a player in there
