Whats being missed by Roy is that the FA cup and the League cup offer the only chance of glory a mid to lower table team like Palace can ever taste. As a Fulham fan our League cup run this year has been amazing and the prospect of a trip to wembley is mouth watering. Just ask Wigan or Birmingham fans if they would have traded their cup wins for 17th place. I doubt it.

Pardew managed to get Palace to an FA Cup final only a few years ago. Palace are never going to get relegated, there's no reason not to go strong in the cups. If they were fighting relegation or pushing for Europe then fair enough, but they play awful football and any chance of progression is thrown away for another league game. They're next game is away at Arsenal, they'll probably lose there with or without Eze.

Crystal Palace's woes have also been compounded by Parish's greed whilst trying to sell his players for exorbitant fees. Eg: Benteke, Zaha were quoted astronomical sums of money to be sold. putting off potential buyers. Who eventually ran down their contracts and left for free. Would they have been better off selling olise or Eze and reinvesting that money into the squad in the summer

Palace have done well to stay in the Premier League for over a decade and Parish deserves credit for that. Whenever he's had to make a big decision around appointing or sacking a manager, more often than not he's gotten it right. The thing though is that a club like Palace can stabilise themselves in the league and are right to do so, but there then has to be some sort of plan to try to progress and not just tread water forever. Because if you don't do that, inevitably your time will run out. There will be a season where injuries hit or some key decisions go against you, and you fall into a relegation fight and eventually go down. I think the Vieira appointment was an attempt to progress, however ultimately it didn't quite work and Roy was brought back to save the day (which he did). Parish now has to think about taking another calculated risk. I suspect it might be Cooper he pushes for again and that could be a decent appointment, but I'm not sure he's the man to really take the club forward. I look at Iraola at Bournemouth and Big Ange at Tottenham as appointments who were seen as risks due to them not having managed at this level before, but who both have their clubs performing above expectations. It's time to look beyond the Hodgson's, Pulis's, Allardyce's and maybe even Coopers' of the footballing world imo.

The question is why hasn't the board managed to build the new stand which eventually would increase match day revenue, and why has the board outside investors who were brought in to Palace to push us on to the next level seem for reasons not made public not really done so, which has and seems to be happening at our rival clubs of similar stature in the premier league on and off the pitch? Palace fans feel the club's standing still, if anything going backward with no signs of light at the end of the tunnel.

Not having any excuses for Palace. Clubs that have been in the premier league for a shorter period of time, eg Brentford and Brighton, have at least gotten or gotten extremely close to qualifying for Europe which palace haven’t done. Even Wolves, who were in the prem before their current tenure, were a long way behind palace before getting to the prem and have already been in Europe. Same with Burnley. Clear lack of ambition

All fans, regardless of the club we are talking about in particular need to understand their is a glass celling to what the club can achieve without having Manchester City , P.S.G or Chelsea size money, but even they clubs have glass celling. Manchester City & Chelsea have gone on to become European & World Champions in recent years but the only place you can go from there is knock it all down, rebuild if you can try to win the same trophies playing a better style of football if possible & that most likely is impossible. For a club such as Crystal Palace or Fulham or Southampton the most they could ever achieve without mega investment is to win a domestic cup & myb if they are extremely lucky win The Conference League or the Europa League like West Ham did last season but where do a club like West Ham go from there it's not an easy question to answer in my personal view as without mega money they are not going to achieve anything better the only way is down as West Ham are finding out this season. Football is about chasing dreams & Crystal Palace are not even manging that at this point in time in my view as a none Palace fan. But would Crystal Palace fans swap whare they are with Charlton Athletic They were once wanting to push up higher in The Premier League & look what they have been though. Crystal Palace fans, be very careful what you wish for it just might happen in a way you don't like.

where does palace fans, pundits etc expect the club to end up?. Not every club can do a brentford or brighton and even then they invested heavily at the back end in order for the club to succeed on the pitch. The palace ownership seem nice and comfy with Roy cos they dont need to put the hand in the pocket too much, he keeps them in the league so the cash keeps flowing in from that. Sack Roy thats great, whos taking over?. Will the manager be backed, will the structure be in place above him etc so the club can progress. What happens in the summer if their two best players get snapped up, can the owners say every penny will go towards strengthing the team.....Roy is boring and shouldnt be there, but my god fans are deluded cos they want a bit more excitement.

Palace fans have to be realistic. Palace have always been capable of going on a 7,8,9 game run without winning. Avoiding relegation should be their focus every season. Anything after that is a bonus, including playing attractive football. Not every team can challenge for honours or play attractive football. Palace have done well to avoid relegation for so long. The club is effectively being run on a shoe string budget.

Just playing in the PL should be good enough for Crystal Palace supporters - have overachieved for years now. The club is most likely destined to play in the Championship or lower in the next couple of years since it's not a perennial PL club.
