ETH got top 4 last season and won a cup. He has the highest winning percentage of any Manchester United manager I believe. He also overachieved at Ajax compared to previous managers. He hasn't suddenly become bad overnight. Still in the hunt for a CL place and an FA Cup this season. The idea that he deserves to be replaced should be up for debate, never mind being replaced by Southgate.

Don’t be daft! Give your head a wobble, mate. I do believe the England manager is easier than managing Man U. However, to suggest the pressure is more at Man U than England is just wrong. Like I said, I believe the England role is easier to manage as you just get to pick the best players for free. You also can pick a player and then drop him from the next squad without any financial loss. But the pressure of managing England is immense and the expectations is much higher. England lost in the final and most fans still said it was not good enough. If Man U finished 2nd in the prem, the fans would be elated and the manager would not be getting any stick, like Southgate did for losing in the final!

Southgate being better for United than Ten Hag is probably the worst opinion I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s almost comical. Southgate is an utter failure of a manager. Ten Hag has won trophies. What’s Southgate achieved? And by the way Southgate has a far better pool of players at his disposal than Ten Hag. The United job is THE biggest job in England by far, and comes with more media scrutiny than any job in the world. The England manager is under the spotlight for maybe 15 games a year, if that, and for a tournament every 2 years. Ten Hag gets photographed and stories written about him going out for a bike ride. It’s relentless pressure every single day. To say Southgate is better for the job than Ten Hag is genuinely one of the stupidest things I have ever heard

Talksport has literally been institutionally against him from the start. Whatever he does in the job they won't be happy until he's gone. Even this season if he managed to win the FA Cup they'd be segments like this to get the eyeballs. Ten Hag isn't a dynamic interviewee like José that gives you real gold quotes and he's not mates with them all like Poch so they want him gone under any circumstances. Alan Brazil weekly dropping the "I've heard the players all hate him", "I've heard he's going to be sacked on Monday" all season. Agenda driven bullshit. Basically Ten Hag has pissed off the agents of players that leak info to Talksport by looking to sell people so they need him gone to keep their leaks where they are. I get the fair criticism of the team and losing games, performances etc but at this point it's literally any excuse to pile on him that they don't apply evenly to other managers.

@@olaoyewo2308 For Man Utd and Ten Hag (if he stays) next season the expectations would be getting CL football and winning another trophy if possible and have something resembling a way they want to play. Sure the fans want to be winning the league etc but expectations are set by what has been seen for a decade. They've been a mess for so long I'd say another 2 years of trying to get better, correct everything above the manager, DoF, scouts, signings, cleaning the squad out so they can try to be more and more competitive before Utd then think about properly being in a title race. Basically the same place they've been really since Fergie. You'd hope to see signs of moving the right way instead of continual decline. United fans would always brag about finishing above Liverpool in any season. It doesn't mean most of them thought it would stay that way from now on. If anything it probably means more with how good Liverpool have been under Klopp compared to United adding to the bragging. What are Liverpool fans expecting next season in the first year since Klopp? They expecting more of the same or will their standards and expectations be eased for a new manager coming in when it's all change?

How hypocritical is Murphy? He’d have Southgate over Ten Hag who will now be under a proper regime at United but he wouldn’t have Southgate over Alonso at Liverpool? And he seriously thinks United would be in a better position now if Southgate was manager and they hadn’t appointed Ten Hag? And his only logic in explaining that is “Southgate wouldn’t have wasted £300m like Ten Hag” even though Ten Hag hasn’t wasted £300m because the likes of Martinez were great signings?
