@@dman9152 not really. City had been skint for generations before Thatskin and until 1999 had spent more seasons in the top flight than utd. Think even despite several relegations in 80/90s they’re still in top 6 of all time in terms of top flight games.

City have bought everything. The manager, the structure above him, the feeder clubs,the infrastructure, the players ,the trophies, changed the crest, you name it. The only thing that can't be bought is the respect that comes from people who know football. I'm a united fan,I absolutely despise Liverpool. But, I respect what they ve done, respect the history, even now I can appreciate how they came back from the bad times . That's the kind of thing myself and many more can't like about city. Yes ,they won a treble, yes they've won and will win many more trophies. Nobody actually cares. They're still just man city to us, and to Liverpool for that matter. A middle of the road club juiced to the eyeballs on steroids. Yes They're a good side, but it's so manufactured it's borderline funny. That's what kills them now, they can't buy the respect that being a legitimate big club brings

I will give him a pass though because, they repeat the 'state owned' lie in the press so often that even City fans are confused about what the 'ownership model' factually is in a very legal sense. Which is that Sheikh Mansour took private ownership of the club with his own wealth(the UAE would not have allowed this if they had a interest in it). This City fan wasn't the most knowledgeable but the irony is, he's more clued up than 99% of the mouth breathing Liverpool, United and Arsenal fans who talk all kinds of inaccurate fairytale nonsense about City(past and present) in a vain attempt to make themselves feel better about City being the top club right now. Simon is clueless, but he knows how to sound confident while talking BS, he's VERY skilled at that(and it is a skill in fairness, it's just not a very honest way of debating IMO). Watch him talk to any real expert on a subject that has a different view than him and his tactics become obvious. It becomes clear he knows(or thinks) he can win a debate despite the other person having more knowledge of the subject than him.

Brilliant stuff, had Jordan in knots again. Difference with City fans who turn up on these talk shows is they come from an era of not winning and are proper fans. Not bloody arm chair fans like most of the red brigade that phone in. Spot on with the Ferguson comment. Jordan and the rest of these spineless chairman and clubs just looked up to United and followed their lead. I don’t know why people disagree with Jordan. Most football fans agree that Man City’s ownership model is problematic. We’ve all seen the dodgy emails concerning inflated sponsorship deals and the illegal rerouting of money from Abu Dhabi to Manchester City through multiple companies. Instead of being transparent, Manchester City have stymied every investigation into the club and have refused to comply with the demands of football’s governing bodies, offences for which they’ve been financially penalised. Who knew that allowing states with questionable human rights records to own football clubs would be a bad idea?

Why can't City fans accept they're cheats? You cheated, you won & get over it. They are so insecure to portray themselves as the small average guy that represents the common folk. Get over it, your owners did shady dealings to artificially boost your club. Pep runs out of Spain like he did with his doping. Fair play to Pep, this time he stays at City with their cheating suspicions & ways because he knows that UAE has the money & political power to cover it all up. Manchester Cheaty fans are insecure.

No they havent cheated. Theyve only spent billions in a short space of time. Liverpool done it with bill shankly, they spent the dough in the 60s and 70s when they paid a shilling for ron yeats and tuppence for st john. They also provided them both with two terraced houses and paid for their buses to the match. Its no different to what city are doing now There was a clear financial advantage liverpool had and ive surprised they havent been charged
