I can't understand how paying some money back will restore the pride and hunger that the fans actually want. The Spurs fans were happy to pay the money, and spend it without expectation of a result, if they saw heart. This feels like the footballing equivalent of carbon offsetting.

If you schlepped up from London to Newcastle and back it cost far, far more than £25. 600 miles of petrol at £7.50 a gallon plus depreciation on the car? Even if four of you shared the expense, it's plenty. Return train tickets were probably £50-80 even booked in advance. You're talking £100+ out of pocket for each of those fans, so refunding the ticket price isn't even the half of it.

Look at the money spurs have spent this past 15 years. It should be impossible for newcastle to overtake them with such ease after the 15 years they've just had. Shackles are off now though. all the people who stopped buying NUFC tickets under ashley found that out. NUFC tickets are on a loyalty points system so basically only people with 5-10years of season tickets are getting anything., you can't even get a normal one match general admission ticket without being a NUFC season ticket holder right now

Why should Spurs fans be entitled to a refund? Spurs are top 8 in the PL. That's meeting the club's minimum levels of attainment. They're paying for what they're being sold by Levy. No refund required.

There's a cap on away tickets at £30, so that's the most they will have paid, it's a premier league rule and all clubs have to abide to it. there travel costs will be 4-5x that if they went by train. Even in a car it's probably like 50+ in fuel
