The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 142nd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Daniil Medvedev is the men’s singles reigning champion and Emma Raducanu is the women’s singles reigning champion. Last year, both players claimed their first Grand Slam title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. I already love her. Her technique on the forehand is clearly weird and you wonder how she manages to hit these forehand strokes with that left arm dancing around but i loved it. it’s so nice to see newcomers especially when their technique and gestures are different. (Loved the serve motion too btw :))

It looks really weird, and you wonder how she maintains stability on the forehand (and the serve, to a lesser extent) without using the arms for balance, but she's like Medvedev: completely unorthodox technique, but highly effective. Go Daria!!

She has a unique, weird way of playing that makes her so unpredictable. She looks uninterested sometimes, then she hits those backhand and forehand unexpectedly, getting those tight angles. Tennis world, you better watch our for her, a giant killer on the move lol

She may not go far in this tournament, but she put on a great performance here, and how emotional she was after the win was truly heartwarming. Wishing her nothing but the best moving forward. Having said that, I'm a big Halep fan so I am absolutely bummed out by this outcome. Oh well.

Halep retired in Cincinnati due to injury. Not to take anything away from Snigur but Halep didn't look like she was moving freely. Great result for the young qualifier.

Watching her play style ($nigur)… in not that surprised… she hits the ball pretty much like Hsie and Radwanska… if she can play a mental and smart game like them… Snigur could be a trouble maker!!!

On Halep's side, I will just say that, when you can get a solid racquet on the ball and your feet solidly underneath yourself, you HAVE to place your shots... its either down the line or cross court. All of this hitting the ball back to your opponent leaves destiny in their hands.

I have had the same criticism for Coco Gauff. It appears like she's learning though to set up winners though, not too sure about Halep's game.

If you've ever hit with someone who has pace, you know it's low percentage to try and change the direction of every shot, no matter how cleanly you're hitting. No one can do it. You have to wait for an opportunity when you get a slower shot.

Yeah I found a friend, do you notice she doesn't take the ball in front side but when it is a bit more gone to the side, a just a bit late my coach would tell me!!! making it so unpredictable!!! Bravo!

@@teodorescucristian2814 Frazier reached careerh high as of 13th, so there is a long journey for Snigur to be comparable with Amy's accomoplishments, however Daria's kind of an old-school shots are very similar to Frazier's style on the court

個性的な打ち方で、普通の（特に日本人の）コーチならなおしたくなるフォーム。それでもここまで来たのは才能と言うのかな？ハレップはやり難かったと思う。なにしろ優勝も視点に入れての最初の試合。力の配分とかあるのかも知れない。・・・素人なので推測です。
