No it wasn't. Already 20 minutes into the game, I saw 2 instances of the ball being out of bounds from Serena. This game is rigged against Halep. Put your youtube playback speed at 0.25 and then watch the balls in both instances. 15:23 21:57 And mind you, that was only 20 minutes into the game. I stopped watching the game after that in disgust.

@@flyforce16 I never denied Halep's achievement. It is no secret the woman took so long to win a GS and isnt consistent. Even now when she isnt facing Serena she gets sometimes gets eliminated by being mentality lazy, eg, her match against Pliskova at last the WTA finals. She get's into her own head, I saw no reason for her to win the AO this year - Kenin won through sheer will power. The FO is a tournament she would be winning though and through. Ostapenko and Barty winning should not have happened on her watch

Australian open is one of her very successful tournaments when she reaches the late stages , she only lost one final in 2016 out of all finals that she has played here to an opponent who is just as tricky as Halep and barely makes any errors, i think power and high risk hitters (her preferred type of opponents) like Osaka and Petra would not have had any chance especially in this tournament , it is Serena's best hard court surface and she was playing way better than in the previous US open tournament. In the 1/4 finals she faced the best ace hitter in the women's game leading her 5-1 in the final set plus a few match points, definitely that ankle gave in and she should have asked for a medical time out but i know she feared being criticized for it, she would have had a very good chance to clinch it for sure.

That quarter final match she was dominating than the injury I was hoping and praying pliskova fell and retired the match lol
