I'm not sure, there are several like it with lower powder charges. I haven't personally tested this for pressures. My friend who gave me this load (who works in the industry) said he did and it's in spec. I'm guessing it's on the upper end. All I know is it kills ducks pretty well. @saltcreekammo
@saltcreekammo Жыл бұрын
There probably is, but I've never had an issue shooting them. The developer of the load had them pressure tested in multiple hulls. You will also run lower pressures if you load it conventionally without a rolling crimp finisher. Hope this helps... The original load was under 1400 FPS at 33 grains. So if you want to run it there, go for it.

Ive seen pictures of older fixed choke guns with barrels bulged from it.. I actually whitnessed my buddy ruin a brand new rem 870 with less than 15 rounds.. Sparks flew from muzzle as he shot. He was using the TPS wads in fed hulls as yours. Super Mag barrel. He split the choke tube by using the steel airgun shot in his reloads As he was unable to locate BB. Super Sam steel... So he went bought 7 or 8 bottles of daisy BB'S.. And it was a steel rated modified tube that the gun came with... Personally i wouldnt..but thats my choice from experience.

Air rifle BBs ARE NOT annealed and are MUCH harder than steel shot used for waterfowl ammunition!!! You'd better have a VERY tough wad, or you will absolutely risk barrel scoring. Being harder shot, it will also run at higher pressures because it won't set back or flow through the choke as easily as annealed steel shot. C'mon man. You're going to get somebody hurt or at least damage a barrel
@saltcreekammo
@saltcreekammo 2 жыл бұрын
Even if anything you claim is true, none of that matters when you're using a wad rated for tungsten super shot, which is harder than any steel out there. Been shooting ducks this way for 5+ years now in multiple guns with no issues... Happy hunting.

@@MrJuiceyjuice9 tungsten is more dense and harder than any iron steel out there. That's a fact. The main point is these coated BB's aren't going to harm modern shotgun barrels-- which are usually chrome lined, adding even more hardness and protection to the inside of barrels. You do you all you want, but i've shot hundreds of loads like this without issue. Put commercial steel shot in this load. Makes no difference.
