Whenever I use the method of recording automation and notes, I can never hear my beat and just have to guess what I’m doing. Any tips?

Right click the recording button and make sure it's on notes and automation only, lmk if that worked

make sure u have song selected in the top left and that you arent on pattern mode

There’s a better way of automating it so it’s actually smooth…

Yeah, I could right click and automate one of the bands, and then I'd have to click points in. I'd rather do it manually this way. Both ways work, and it boils down to personal preference. 💯

@@JayPhatty You can actually automate anything, Even 3rd party plugins by touching a parameter in any plugin, in this case you can touch the band on the EQ and then go to the top left of FL and click Tools, then click “ Last tweaked “ and click create automation clip.

@SALVOBEATS Yes, I'm aware. Once again, you would have to click points in. That will work efficiently, but in this case, I would like to manually automate this filter.

I dont understand why when a put the EQ in the master, the whole song contains the effect when i only want to apply it in a specific part of the

Well, because the master channel has every element routed to it. If you want to have a specific area with that eq, you have to automate it. Go to the Playlist on the black bar drag and loop an area where you want the effect. Then, on the eq in the mixer, bring its mix knob down all the way, right-click, and create an automation clip. Then you can right-click points in to get the automation right. I have a bunch of videos on my page that talk about automation.
