Hello gentlepeople,
Been quite some time since I carved a knight and I felt like doing something simple enough. Having a big cape covering the back and a helmet removes a lot of work for us.
Piece is ~1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches or 3 x 3 x 8cm.
Wood is Lind (lime/basswood)
Knife is Sergey Belov

Another great tutorial and carving, Jeff. I did check out the Instagram site for your inspirational carver and you do a great service of explaining how to make similar work. Very much appreciated. I have Scandinavian DNA and love the Flat Plane approach as well as the Viking theme. Again, thanks a ton.

Hi ! Thank You kindly for your tutorials, I find projects that You present very appealing and appreciate the way You go in detail about the processes and thoughts while carving. Thanks to this tutorial I made my by far best carving ! It is not ideal I messed up here and there but in the end it looks really nice :) Thanks again !

Very good video. You do a good job of explaining what you do, and how someone can do their own carving. And you come up with great characters to carve. I'm giving this one a try later today. Thanks for sharing your craft!

I need to clean it up a bit and paint it, but the rough carving is there. Thanks much for this video. I love the knights and Vikings you do. It's hard to find instruction for those kinds of things to carve, so I really appreciate it!

Awesome, I've been waiting for one like this!!! This reminds me of a knight in one of the books I'm reading, the knights in the book wear thier crosses on their helmets and shields. The only difference is that they are giant 15 foot tall robots piloted by a guy inside the chest, and this one is a tiny peice of wood.😂

@@QSOutdoors I'm almost done with the gnome house, and I'm going to do this one next. My dad is really into that book I told about, I'm going to try and fashion this into one of the robots in the book for father's day. Even though father's day is 4 months away, I thought I should start now to give me enough time to fix mistakes if needed

I just started watching your videos, as I am going to be starting out in wood carving soon, and I have to say I *really* appreciate how you explain your actions and how you are using your knife. Even as a complete beginner I am able to understand what you are doing and why.

Jeff is brilliant to carve along to there’s a lot of good carving channels out there but this one is the one that’s helped me improve the most. Not to mention his designs r exactly the type of designs I got into carving for. Good luck on ur projects a good starter project would be this guys Christmas decorations video.

Great video excellent carving. Do u know the game for honor there’s lots of videos on KZfaq for it if not but it’s basically knight’s vs vikings vs samurai+ it might be a nice source for helmet and armour ideas for ur carvings.

@@grimreaper4339 No I did not! I worked for many years at Ubisoft though so I indeed know the game but thanks for the tip, it's indeed a good idea for helmets! haha
