I try to buy or use straight boards.. I've had to toss some 2X4's back to the pile but I try to pick quality wood (it's not always easy). I also add the top board to the stand and I've been very fortunate that when I put the level on it, it's flat. I've got five DIY stands downstairs in my fish room and I haven't had any issues so far. I do not have a jointer...

I don't have a project list. I bought a bunch of 2x4s and a 4x8 sheet of plywood (in this case its OSB because its cheaper) and then I began to cut and assemble. The size is 73.5 inches long, 19.5 inches wide. 30 inches tall. When I build my next stand, I will definitely lay out the peices of wood I use and the dimensions. This stand is 73.5 inches long, 19.5 inches wide. 30 inches tall. I grew out a Silver Arrowanna in the 150 gallon. I just sold him... the tank is up and running but no stock in it for the first time in 2 years. I'm not sure what's going in there next.

Agreed. Any tank that’s longer than 4 feet needs a Center vertical support.

The stand has held up well. I did change the front though. I didn't like the single whole piece front. It was heavy and it didn't attach great, so I made actual doors for it. But the stand itself has held up great. I have an Arowana in the 150 gallon, but he's growing so fast I may need to upgrade to a larger set up. Or, trade him for something else that's not as big and with have the attitude this fish has. LOL. Good luck on your stand!

@@GebosGarage Thank you. I was trying to avoid the middle supports (like your 90g vid) If I don't put them in then my sump will work great. Glad to see it works with yours.

Well... initially I made it as one large removable front panel. But it was heavy, and I didn't like it. I mean, I did like that it was completely removable, giving me full access, but later I decided to do something different. I took the panel back to my garage, cut it in half (right down the middle) and turned it into two large doors that I attached with hinges. The left side has since warped a little bit, and although it looks fine, it bugs me. I will be remaking the doors for this cabinet and I want to thank you for making me revisit this. It's time for an update video on the stand. I just wish lumber prices weren't so high right now. Thanks for visiting the channel, I'll mention you in the follow up video. Cheers!

Its doing just fine. I'm still happy with it.

Still have the same tank on it. Hasn't moved. The fish have changed, the aquascaping has changed. The stand is perfect!
