A life imprisonment is not actually a life sentence, you can get paroled for good behaviour. I’m pretty sure you have to serve a certain amount of time until you can be paroled, so the 3 years added were basically extra 3 years until you’re able to be paroled.

@@billyjoethethird8436 I think there are priests in Japan called Kannushi. They are of the Shinto faith. However, Japanese funerals tend to be of Buddhist nature, so I think monks would hold the funeral rites instead.

@@gentblue It wasn't a comment about prison guards, many of whom do want to help the prisoners - it was more about the fact that he didn't seem to have anyone in his life. I'm not deluded - I know what he did, but it seems that, (like many others) he was almost destined for that life. The fact that he didn't appear to have anyone would seem to back that up.

Idk what the laws are over there but in America life in prison is 20 years then you get out. Life in prison with parole means after 20 years you have a chance to get parole but you could end up spending more years in prison. And life without parole mean you will die in prison. So a life sentance + 3 years in america is 23 years.

It always baffles me that there are people smart enough to escape from high security prisons, yet they can't figure out how to lay low once they're out, especially those who lived in times where cameras, ID and fingerprinting weren't even common place yet.

Because he didn't mind staying in prison and serving his sentence as long as the guards treated him properly. "Laying low" your entire life basically means being a dirt poor hobo since you can't get a job, can't get government earnings, can't get anything. The last time he was caught was actually because he cried that a police officer gave him a cigarette and admitted it himself, since Japan deffo didn't care him after the war was over.

They somewhat messed up what actually happened in the video. In reality, he was trying to steal some tomatoes from a farm when he was caught by the farmer, who then attacked him, resulting in him killing the farmer in self-defence. It also wasn't part of an escape attempt, but instead something that happened while he was on the run. They were referring to him not using violence during his escapes.

Actually no, A life sentence can actually mean they're sentenced for life yes , but some sentences are patrolled for good behavior, back then in Japan's legal system it was about 45 years, now its 53, so A Life Sentence can mean more, for a more detailed description, i would look into kento bento's follow up about this man.

@@Lukethomas2015 yeah, a "life sentence" in America is a set number of years, not actually for the person's whole life. That's why sometimes, instead of being sentenced to life, you'll see someone get a sentence of like 300 years, usually for numerous, heinous crimes. Those kinds of sentences are absolutely for life.

No, depending on how many years a life sentence is in the country they will have to serve it and if it gets added a few more years they also need to serve in prison on those years until they get a parole. Let's say a country's life sentence is about 20 years if another 3 years is added his total prison time would be 23 years

6:40 this is a terribly incorrect explanation. Salt water accelerates corrosion, because corrosion is a galvanic process, and electrons move more easily through salt water. The salt doesn't "react violently" with the iron. It doesn't react at all. It's the oxygen and water that causes the corrosion, the salt just accelerates it by helping the electrons move when electrons are swapped between the oxygen and the iron.
@qwefhj3011
