Actual high school advice: 1. Don’t spend 4 years juuling 2. It’s never to late to prep for college 3. Be respectful to teachers 4. Save up money 5. Try to get a job (dog walking, fast food, it doesn’t matter) 6. Find real friends and not fake ones 7. Learn how to do some important things that school doesn’t teach you And ALOT more

Eggcellent also highschool advice: if you don’t wanna go to college. Then don’t. Tbh I know it’s said tons and tons on here to go to college, but even my parents agree that it’s a bit of trash lately. Maybe not for the rest of the world, but for the US, prices have only gone up for college and the minimum wage hasn’t followed. It’s 60% more expensive now even after inflation. So it’s much harder to get a job, but then also there’s many more opportunities besides college. Examples being: trade schooling, smart investing with money from almost any job. To be honest, I didn’t do shit in highschool. And it wasn’t needed. I don’t regret it. The only thing I do regret is that I don’t get math. But eh I can learn. For college you just need money to get in. Then do really well in a community college and you can move to a bigger college and show your scores (that actually matter) from your community college. Highschool is tbh trash. College is what matters if you want to do something that requires college. If not, don’t force yourself to live a life you hate. Find something you love. Invest, don’t waste your life on a job you hate.

We'll one might hope. Schools in the USA need a major overhaul .... I am lucky enough to be able to tutor my own kid through k12.com which is our online public school. He will get his high school diploma but I can customize is learning to what he needs and we pick his social groups which means we find social groups that are full of not assholes LOL

4:49 where Wengie is giving everyone everything, You do NOT need to do that. It's good to be nice but you don't need to please everyone. You can lie and say you don't have an extra pencil or you only carry one because it's mechanical and can't give it away. Trying to make everyone around you happy and can be bad for your mental health. 10:36 don't record your friends, that's pretty toxic behavior even if your not a toxic person, if they find out you've been recording them then that WILL break their trust and you'll lose friends. There are other ways to find out if someone really doesn't like you I know it's March but some of this advice is SO problematic

Would also add- If anyone is a jerk to you, including teachers, remember that as soon as you're gone, you don't have to see them again. And growing up to be the best version of yourself you can be is the best revenge.

And we do split the homework sometimes or sometimes I gave answers instead. So is it ok if I still qsk for answers and stuff quite often but do it that way?

Nina I mean, I like online school too if it weren’t for me possibly never seeing my friends again because we’re all going to different schools next year, watching my friendships slowly deteriorate, missing my graduation, missing my graduation trip, and a few other things. But yes, I am appreciative that I’m not sick from the corona right now. But how can I actually tell? I may just be asymptomatic. But frankly, I’d prefer waking up way too early every day and being able to see my friends over a world pandemic and a crushing loneliness. But *excuse* me for being “ungrateful” and pessimistic in a time where people are literally dying by the thousands and livelihoods are being destroyed.

@@valesth4903 Not all adults. In the uk, for example, most companies have the HR department doing that for you. And the government has to see if you paid to much tax when the new tax year comes and give you a refund if you are due one. So some people have actually never dealt with them, but ould be nice if they were thought somehow in debt in school.

I'm that 'dsf' (or designated smart friend) and I'll just say this much; it hurts alot when you think someone cares about you, but they're only using you to do their work. At the end of high school, I didn't have any friends, because I felt like everyone just wanted to use me. Please dont get a 'dsf' because that will make it where you wont learn, and you seriously hurt that person.

I, personally, loved high school. Now, as a university student, I have met some people who hated the experience, but they didn't give up. Uni/collage isn't for everyone, but you'll be soo happy later in life if you finish school. Anyway, I hope you're having a great day❤

It's nice to hear someone have a positive experience in high school. I had an alright time, but I don't regret finishing (which was technically yesterday lol) High school isn't always the worst 4 years or the best; it just depends on your mindset, your location, your peers, etc.

I know this is super late, but as a person with learning disabilities, school is really, really hard to do. I almost had to repeat senior year in high school, and I barely passed one class out of four in college. It's worth it though. I'm more valuable to employers, and it's easier to do things that are hard (like writing emails, taxes, finding housing, ect.) because it's always been hard and it always will be. I'm in my mid-20s struggling through life and if I didn't learn the life lessons I'm learning or have learned in school, I couldn't be standing so well on my own. Good job, good luck, and have a back up plan of education!

Can I just say. High school is probably one of the true social times you will get in your life it's not like you can walk up to someone in the street and say hi. School allows you to meet new people. And these tests that you say you hate are there to help you get better. Saying you don't like a teacher cuz they shout at you lots or give you "to much" homework is unfair. If you do all your work in lessons and don't disturb others then you will be fine. Also there will always be bullies no matter where you go so just ignore them. Bullies do what they do to get a reaction and distract themselves from their sad lives. By ignoring them they will soon give up and leave you alone. Plus if you don't go to school them you won't get a job or you'll be stuck in a dead end job or an unstable job( like KZfaq)

I went to school for science, had a great job at a biomedical lab, hated it, and became a truck driver, which pays more and I love it. But I'm happy I went to University and have the knowledge I do. I've actually saved someone's life with my medical knowledge who got into an accident.

I had to drop up school because of anxiety crisis and panic attacks caused by bullying and i still wish i could have finish my education but was something at that time i couldn't chose so for those ones that can choose at least finish high school. Yes, I'm way late in watching this video. However. I'd like to commend you two giving financial assistance to three college students. First, you not only encourage education but you are helping them accomplish that dream. Second, it is important to share the message that not all teens are made for traditional college and that's ok. Pursuing what inspires a person, that results in them affording life expenses, is worthy. The trades are perfect examples of careers that are needed and pay well. Lastly, there are still many people that literally cannot afford college. Your scholarships can open doors for those who might never get the chance otherwise. My husband and I put ourselves through college as adults while working, with little kids. Our families didn't have the resources to pay. I wish we would have had such a generous gift, like yours, to help us. Kudos to you!

Like taxes, those are incredibly important and we will never be taught that. I think a lot of people would actually be interested in that topic especially since most of your viewers are going to college and will need that knowledge? 13:28 in my freshman year of high school, my teacher actually did teach us that! he showed us how to use the graphs we were learning to see what car is the most cost effective. the whole class used a used car cite to pick out a few each and we went on the like bank of america website or something to see the current interest rates to see how much we would end up paying. he also gave advice on how to haggle and told us that if we aren't satisfied with the price, leave out number and walk away (as they likely get paid based on commission so they may just end up selling it for your price) he was a really cool teacher! im really sad i moved near the end of the semester... i wish i got to have more time in that class. my other math teachers weren't nearly as cool!!

Thank you for mentioning trade school! People need to remember that traditional school doesn’t work for everyone. And you know what we need? Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc. From a teacher, thanks Cristine and Ben for supporting all types of education.
