I have this glossy taco from the dollar store. It's so weird, it like softens all the polishes beneath it, so even if they're 100% dry, it let's you push it around like silly putty. And it takes like two days to dry, so if you sleep, then it smudges. But I have this other dollar store taco from a different brand and it's actually pretty good.

I think the thing about quick-dry tacos from the dollar store is that you have to let the actual nail polish underneath it to dry completely. I know it might not be as efficient as the *good* quick dry tacos but, hey, add a beautiful shine to all your designs. 😘

Komerican10 Exactly, I also use it in science experiments with my kids, however parchment paper doesn't stick to the crust of my pies, and foil makes a great quick lid for a pan....so foil isn't as bad as some ppl believe it to be. (pan lid idea came from Alton Brown, js)

Consult with your parents and/or doctor, but taking biotin (or even a multivitamin) is very good for nail growth. Don't bother with any of the fancy Instagram brands -- the vitamin shelf at your local drug store should have what you need.

On the dotting tool note: you can use other household items for different-sized dots! If you have sewing supplies around, by chance, try using the head of a sewing pin (to clarify, i don’t mean a sewing needle. I mean a pin. Use the part that usually has a little ball on it). Just be careful with it, please. And don’t lose it! Stepping on a needle you lost in the carpet is the worst. You could also try using the tip of a dull pencil as a dotting tool! I’ve definitely done that.
