Imagine ordering chicken at a restaurant, getting it raw, and the server telling you "well yeah it's raw but the cook has to go on break," like, no, you shouldn't have been offering chicken if you can't serve it properly!

EA has broken my spirit like it's broken this game. I give up. I'm not buying any more packs unless the community overwhelmingly approves them. Okay, first of all, Sims is a huge company. As a paying customer, I will never be grateful, happy, woke, or anything about spending my money on a product that promises me something and doesn't deliver. If I order a cheeseburger and I only get the bun and they say "Oopsies.. we are going on holiday! ✨✨" I wouldn't be happy either, would I?? It is not THAT hard! I am from a time before updates were possible. If you bought a game, it better be DONE, cause that's how the final product is. And in my opinion, companies are being TOO comfortable with the "update" meta. second, I like that you are saying this kind of stuff out loud. Not enough content creators do, and it needs to be said.

Why does every corporation think we as a consumer should be ok with some defects when you buy something. Nearly everything that i buy new from clothes to decor to video games there is always a defect or done extremely cheaply. We NEED to complain. When buying anything we shouldn’t put up with defects, return those items that are bad quality and ask for a refund every time even if they say “no refund” for certain items. I know it takes time to do these things but we as consumers cannot put up with stuff like this anymore-no matter how much you pay for the item even if it is only a couple of dollars or they will keep making cheap items with defects.

You're right about kits being better right now, even though they're playing it safe with the Goth kit. They could've added more of the classic "Victorian" and fancy goth instead of the rocker and emo-looking ones. This is also their opportunity to add a Gothic Lolita look which looks wayyy better in tandem with the Castle Kit, but they didn't.

The reason EA is able to get away with so much atm is because they have the luxury of not having a competitor and they are literally squeezing the life out of their customers at this point. It's all on purpose, and the second a new life sim game comes out, the community will stop trying to be "heard" and just play the new life sim game instead, which will lead to the downfall of one of EA's biggest franchises. And I can't wait for it ❤

People don’t expect anything coming from the Sims/EA to work anymore. They’ve set a standard so low and beat the consumer down mentally and emotionally to a point where this economic abuse is the norm. And what happens in most abusive relationships? The person gets so comfortable that they don’t want to leave and eventually make excuses for the abuser Think about the hours people have invested, money invested, … that makes it so hard to leave. the downfall of sims 4 against 1-3 is really sad, they used to give us really thought out and fun packs that included so much and added various things to the games but now you have to buy a pack for something as basic as laundry in sims 4 and there's so much bugs its not even fun anymore. wondering if the staff from then and now has changed drastically because what happened to their work ethics and ideas?

I used to love playing the Sims 4. Now I haven't installed it in like 2-3 years. It was the one game I never uninstalled. Then JTB came out, and it helped break my "buy every pack" habit. Then My Wedding Distasters came out, and the game got buggier and buggier. Honestly, thank you Satch for still reporting on these issues. Not only for the people who still buy the packs and actively play the game, but for people like me who are waiting to see when the game and the EA app is in the least horrific state it can be. I really appreciate it, and the fact that you're not using the toxic positivity bs. LOVE YOU! ❤

Something that's annoying in my game is that, when living in a rental unit, my social events get ended early by a randomized "for rent" event. Then my sims are all sad about a failed party / birthday but there's no way to stop short the for rent event (the pet adoption thing kept going until the next day 😭) 2:10 at least I do get paid as a landlord

Thank you for raising this - it needs more attention to let EA know that it is entirely unacceptable to rip people off with broken products.

I think the anger would have been less rank if they hadn’t put that the For Rent update was changing the resolution of the image on the main menu. I, for one, was shocked when I read it, it felt like a slap in the face. They should have let that inconsequential update to be discovered on its own. Ugh

I don’t think much will change until their pockets are hit. We as a collective would have to stop purchasing packs, kits, etc for them to take us serious. Otherwise they just look at us as a joke complaining about issue they barely fix while giving them our hard earned money.

I'm pretty mad because we can't add rental/residential lots from the gallery to other world lots.... and lately saves have been corrupted just for owning for rent. Really love the CAS but might disable the For rent pack all together. And they obviously don't care to fix it lol 😅

The goth kit boots, came with one pack, the jeans came with get famous (i think), then the dress came with seasons, AT LEAST 3 of them are just recolours, so sloppy of them. Laziness could not be more prominent. Next pack will probs be base game recolours.

Also For Rent is apparently somehow breaking the hidden lots that you use for careers (e.g. detective) which is both hilarious and just... how? ... if that's the case? Or I guess it may be a separate bug but you never know with these games anymore.

I don't even bother contacting EA customer support anymore. Last time I did, I was flirted with while we waited for my game to update....it was really awkward and so unprofessional. They even asked personal questions like what I looked like and how old I was. 💀

Well, I just happened to mention class action on the official forums and they banned me for a week. So that's how movements are stopped. I'm pretty mad right now.

I just got seasons and cottage living, and what I'm noticing is that half of my household's Sims don't recognise holidays and the other half keep defaulting to walking round bald and in their underwear as their everyday outfits - dunno what's up with that but it's ANNOYING 😂

I’ve had that file corruption issue … did not even have 6 rental units … the units were out of sequential order (never ran that cheat since buying the pack) AND when I tried to “fix” the numbering by turning off the units one by one, epic corruption ensued. No lot would let me enter/open it within the entire game file. When I tried to bulldoze/replace that one rental lot WITHOUT entering/opening it, it only APPEARED to replace it and then reverted back with an error message. Again, no cheats used.

Last year I stopped playing the TS4 and switched to TS3. I really miss the times I played TS4, it's just really depressing and anxiety inducing trying to micromanage and watch out when interactions bug out. I love(d) TS4, but there's nothing anyone can do to save this game. They've given up completely.

That's weird, my game kept crashing too. I do have For Rent, but I'm not actively playing it, just visiting the world and the night market for the fun of it. Not playing the tenant and landlord gameplay/features yet cuz of all the known issues, so I have been avoiding those. But somehow, my game still crashes. By now, I'm convince it's not just the For Rent gameplay feature that is causing corruption, I think it's the whole pack itself that is causing the corruption and crashes.

Your game just had a CTD (Crash to Desktop (CTD) refers to a situation where a software application, usually a video game, unexpectedly closes or crashes, forcing the user back to their desktop interface.) Sometimes it's just a bit of a blip and it's alright, doesn't necessarily mean your game is corrupt x

This just makes me so glad I didn't get the pack. I was planning to wait for a sale but I might not even do that, it feels like Wedding Stories 2.0

If anyone tells you that you’re wrong for being honest, THEY are apart of the problem. Honesty is still the best policy, especially when it saves people money on broken games at a time of inflation

Im not sure if you noticed Satch, but in your Sims 3 files, the ones you say you have no access to are under the "INSTALLED add ons and features" Implying they are already installed. Do you have them installed or Sims 3 in general? Have you tried uninstalling all of it and looking again? It's also possible you do have just those packs installed, somewhere on your pc, somewhere not usual, but the app detects it so won't let you re-download. Anyways, worth looking into :) As for the kits, I like them, but as a Gen Xer, I was absolutely picturing silk shirts with frills, long straight hair, pancake makupe etc (victorian-ish) but Im not mad at it either and the castle kit looks kinda blah BUT I can tell they will be handy for castle building. Although, they could have tossed us spiral stairs for the towres. lol

I have been way too scared to place any residential rentals due to the save corruption issues that have been going on. Totally unacceptable to be charged money for this shit anymore. Edit: Also I truly believe the only reason they haven't patched anything for For Rent yet is because they're still scrambling to figure out HOW to fix it all, which is ridiculous on it's own. But ah you know, even when they DO fix it; more bugs will follow in it's footsteps lol!

Snatch, be very careful about downloading things when you shouldn’t be able to. I lost my account a couple years ago because of them having a payment issue and me canceling the payment and still keeping the downloads. They banned my account.

It’s really sad EA is neglecting such an amazing game. It really makes me wonder what’s going on internally. I bet employee morale is so low 😢

I never go over the 6 unit per lot cap and this pack still broke my save. Apparently going over 20 residential rentals in a save also breaks the save. I've actually tested this and for me, the cap is 23. As soon as I put down a 24th residential rental my save currupts always starting in willow creek. I get a green corruption triangle which I have worked out is the first warning. Once that turns orange you cannot save that lot. If it's green, you can still save it. You just need to change one of your residential rentals back to something else. Either way, the best thing is to roll back to/recover a previous save before the corruption if you can!

Last time i tried to play with my kid, the game just kept breaking :/ even build mode was buggy. Objects refused to place after using live mode and trying to "save and exit" caused the game to have a fkin stroke 😅 I'm ready to throw in the towel on this nonsense. I might be a Sims 2 player from now on 😭

You’re not negative. In fact I am subscribed to you because you manage to make the numerous bugs and glitches into humorous time that we can all just laugh at. The many issues with the game used to be a source of immense frustration for me (ironic as I used/use the game to destress) and now it’s much easier to just laugh about it. 😅😂

I gave up on the sims 4 completely after For Rent. I recently downloaded the Sims 2 because I was so fed up and I am incredibly satisfied with the Sims 2 and how detailed and entertaining it is compared to Sims 4. Waiting patiently for Paralives and Life By You at this point.

I totally agree with you about the Christmas break thing. They deserve breaks, but they should have planned everything better. EA has been making the Sims 4 for long enough that they should definitely know by now that their packs require a bug-fixing period after release. If they don't, that is extremely questionable business practice. Them releasing a pack before Christmas but not allowing themselves time to fix it is arguably one of the most cash-grabby things they've done, and is completely irresponsible. I struggle to believe they didn't foresee this, and if they truly didn't, that is an issue in-and-of itself. The more likely thing is that they simply do not care. They wanted the Christmas sales without putting in effort to ensure it's success. They care about sales, not customers. EA has been scamming us for years. I don't think you're negative. I think you're real and honest and bringing attention to EA's shady business practices. People only think you're negative because they're used to creators who make non-stop excuses on EA's part.

I have a corrupt save and I didn’t have more than six rentals on one lot. Nearly ten years of playing on one save unplayable - devastated!

I know someone who has the full game and access to all content for free (wink, wink) and chose not to download For Rent. That's how suspicious it was. 😬 I feel bad for the players with damaged saves ☹

I got the corrupted save file issue and I’ve NEVER put more than 6 units so it seems like a BS excuse to not fix it. I lost 5 generations of legacy progress because I would play for 10 minutes and my game would crash saying my file was corrupted.

I think we all expected some bugs with the new pack because they always come. but nobody expected the major gameplay features wouldnt work and the pack can corrupt your save files. They really dont test the game before seelling, its wild.

I can't speak on The Sims 1 but they didn't fix The Sims 2, modders did and EA/The Sims team moved on. They didn't fix The Sims 3, modders did and EA/The Sims team moved on. They've shown us who they are, why some players still refuse to see or accept it and put their money where their mouth is when demanding better, I don't know. And even if we go by the reason, "not everyone played the old games, some came in during Sims 4" well, they've shown us who they are countless times throughout The Sims 4 as well. Off the top of my head the releases that perfectly sum up what EA/Maxis and therefore The Sims 4 are all about include the base game, Dine Out, Cats & Dogs/My First Pet, Journey to Batuu, Bust the Dust, My Wedding Stories, and I'm sure I skipped more but now we have For Rent. At some point as consumers, if you're tired of it you have to stand up for yourself and not take it anymore.

I wish they would fix the other broken packs before releasing new, more broken packs. Like doing a refresh of dine out and fixing the gameplay- im just disappointed at this point with them

There are so many major bugs to be fixed. Only the first three Sims in the household get goaled events, infants get left across the map if you leave the lot, Sims walk through walls, and so much more.

The game just closing was a crash. This has NEVER happened to me until the For Rent patch. The game has literally been crashing so much randomly just like that. I spent two hours on a sim the other day and I clicked on a different hair and the game did exactly that, just closed! And it’s never been like this! It’s truly starting to make me finally want to quit playing sims 4. I’m really contemplating going back to the sims 3 and thankfully have them all on disc… lord!

It's not the debug cheat that's corrupting files in For Rent... Every retail bussiness, vet clinic or restaurant is being turned into a Residential Lot and makes it impossible for you to run your bussiness. (I know it because I never use cheats)

I used to work for a large controversial company that also had a really bad reputation in the end (they went bankrupt) and we as workers would get so much shit from customers and it was unreal. My friend/coworker literally got threatened with physical violence by a customer during their free time! Like bro, we are just there to get our paycheck. I watch so many of your videos and I didn't even realize I wasn't subscribed! I love your honesty about all the stuff going on and your takes on all the packs help me decide which are worth a buy.

5:31 So I had this corruption in the first couple days the pack came out, and I did not have more than 6 residential rental. I'm not sure what caused it, but my sim got into some limbo state where she didn't own her residential rentals and didn't live anywhere. It happened when I was traveling to another lot. She was still in the "my households" menu, but when I tried moving her into a house, or play as any other household, it just kicked me to the worlds menu and gave me an error code.

Those bug fixes are mostly cosmetic, or for activities that I almost never use.😓😖 A peculiar bug that I seems to always get with cats & dogs: When meeting a cat or dog, I get the message about their traits as usual, but, those always contain 1 or 2 traits, out of 3, that CAN NOT apply to pets. I turn off the adopt animal option in the neighbourhood settings for all families. I may still get a message informing me that some homeless Sim, only homeless Sims, just adopted a child or animal...

seasons' holidays only show up for three sims in your household and this has literally been a bug since october 2023 and they still haven't fixed it.

The devs of House Flipper did the same thing. They released their new game, House Flipper 2, then went on month long holiday ignoring all the bugs, issues, missing content, etc. Its a mess. Why dont companies think this through?

Well I am a regular coder not a game coder but I think this does not have to mean your file is corrupted, all the other households where fine which is part of your save. It just ran into an unexpected error (sims could not handle it) and crashed I think. Hopefully you'll be fine 😂

Buying For Rent ruined my game after building a single residential rental. Error code zero and a whole save lost that didnt even have the residential rental. In my main save, I've lost ALL my photos. All black. Generations of photos. I legit cried. I've been on all the bug threads on the EA website and there's literally no advice for PS4 players. The whole game is basically bugged for me now but I'm so upset about the lost pictures. I bought the Sims Medieval and haven't touched the Sims 4 since because I was so devastated. I hate EA Also I made ONE residential rental so my legacy fam could live together. No cheats but a completely corrupted game.

About the update, I'm not surprised. I have bugs I've been forced to live with and get around for years. I just noticed a new one yesterday: trying to split/move household from the phone did nothing. Two different sims pulled out their phone only to put it away with no moving popup appearing. So now I have to use household management to go around it, that's nice. As for your Sims 3 downloads, it says they're already installed 🤔 if I were you, I'd see If a different computer had the same problem

I preordered an expansion pack once and never got it and the help on EA straight up didn’t not understand at all. Shouldn’t at the very least they speak my language?

My partner has helped me out of my comfort zone in terms of games. Dave the diver and Baldurs Gate 3 have fed me better than EA ever has. I haven't touched sims 4 in a few months now. I'll always come back here though because Satch is hilarious and makes good points about EA as a company and the glaringly obvious issues sims 4 has.

It's not just apartments. It doesn't look like they fixed the bug where there's no staff at public venues if you opt out of fame either. They even broke the game for those who didn't buy the pack.
