Single Turbo R32 GTR - Base Map Tuning with Haltech Platinum Pro V2

Installed the brand new Platinum Pro Plug and Play V2 ECU from Haltech, that they sent me as a replacement for my V1 that was messed up. Then we do a little road tuning!

I'd recommend you to change better oil pump and crank collar (if u have short nose crank). When popping up more horsepowers, risk of breaking your old oil pump increases dramatically! Also I saw some smoke coming out of your exhaust in some vid when accelerate, new stem seals and bronze valve guides are usually _must_ to have when talking almost about 30year old (never opened) RB26. Otherwise keep it goin' it's very nice channel to follow :) Greetings from Finland!

Hi, thank you for the comment. I know all about the oil pump and stuff. But I'm not going into the motor at this point in time. When winter comes around I'll be doing cams, valve springs and retainers, valve seals, head studs, cam cap studs, timing belt, water pump, etc.

Goodezilla you are making my wallet scream right now... I can't decide what to do with my GTR as far as single vs staying twin. So many decisions so little moneys haha. Correct me if I'm wrong but you haven't put the HKS bumpsticks in yet. There is a guy just down the street from me that has the stage 1s and they are intense. I could listen for days. Well looking forward to the rest of the build!

haha Im sorry :) I have not put the cams in yet. I wanted the car up and running for the summer. I'll be doing the cams and head studs this winter.

I've got that OS Giken twin plate also, and holy shit the chatter is obnoxious but it's a great clutch. It's not THAT heavy, hahaha.

Yeah, I can't complain, it came in the car from Japan. So that's some money I didn't have to spend haha. Yeah it's not too bad on the left leg :)

Do you have a video showing how you got the boost pressure line thru the firewall and wideband routed for the haltech?

I have an external map sensor, so only wiring is going through the firewall. Same with the wideband wiring.

GoodeZilla, I recently got my GTR; have done some modifications (Twin Tomei's, etc.)... Anyhoot, I just ordered my Haltech and I was wondering when you did your street tune, was your car running on MAF or MAP when you was saying button to the dude with you? Lastly, Do I have to load the base-map or do I just turn on the car since its pre-loaded for MAF?

Freddy Rivera I was on MAP with the haltech. I loaded the MAP base tune before I tried starting it. And changed some other stuff like injectors and o2 sensor

Did you use the factory MAP or was an upgrade? So you can choose on the Haltech which way you want to go (MAF/MAP) correct? here are my mods: -Tomei Twin Turbos 8260 -Tomei Manifolds -HKS exhaust with muffler -NGK Iridium -Napol Performance Coil Packs -Fuel Pressure Reg @ 46 psi -AEM Fuel Pump 320 -Deatschwerks injectors 800cc -Wiring Specialties Cable -Greddy Swirl pot -Greddy Oil relocation kit []MAF are cleaned I appreciate what you think is best to use for start up. +James White The haltech platinum pro uses the stock sensors. So I didn't do anything except plug the haltech in for the air temp sensor.

Curious. I just got the same setup through a sponsorship and they sent me their sensor along with. I thought maybe you tapped it in after the intercooler.

I was reading the manual and it says to plug in the Haltech MAP Sensor to the intake manifold, did you do that before turning the car on? Let me know! Thanks

Yes, I did do that. It's how the ecu knows how much air the engine is getting.

@@Goodezilla will any vaccume hose on the intake manifold work? I know there is one around piston 5 and 6 on the intake manifold side. Is that the best one? I appreciate your time

jlopez0710 I bought mine from a buddy. You can get them from any haltech dealer. Raw brokerage or realstreetperformance for example.

Nah I didn't tune it myself. I just got it driving decently so I could get it to the dyno. That video is on my channel too...check it out :)

It most definitely will...right now I haven't even gone into real boost. I need to setup a dyno tuning session with my tuner before I can see the increase in power!

It's hard to say...The main pieces plus all the little things I needed...I'd say probably about 5k

both rb and 2j are the top two best sounding cars also only two zilla cars in the world unless you swap motors with different cars like a 240/s13 and s14 with rb or 2j would b mint

Not really...I was just getting it road driveable so that I can drive it to my tuner and get it on the dyno.

I was only adjusting the base fuel table...wasn't putting any real load on the motor. I am taking it to a tuner to get dyno tuned. I was just adjusting the fuel table for light throttle driving.
