I'm thiiis close to finishing my build and one of the last things I was going to do tomorrow was wire this up and you gave me a good idea to take 2 grounds and terminate them into 1. And yeah I also ran 2 washers. Going to wait until I get my downpipes and intercooler hoses fabbed up this week before I try to program it since it won't be any use not being able to turn it on haha. I know exactly which video you're talking about, I saw your comment on it and I think he had 540 degrees. The transition at the end to your exhaust made me jump but man does she sound good. Great upgrade, I'm doing so much futureproofing like this that I really will have to eventually get the bottom end built or find a built one but that's later - first gotta get my current build running in the next week or so.

My trigger angle is different cause I pointed my cam pickup vertical and not pointed at 90 degrees. Has to go 270 more degrees around compared to yours. the cam rotation is 1 for every 2 turns of the crank. So 540 ish.. trigger angle For me. Hope that answered your question on why mine was in the 500’s and yours 140. Good job on the video bud.

I think you have the best start to finish build series on KZfaq for the RB26, I’m looking to go single turbo on my 34 and watching your videos not only gives me motivation but is a great source of info. How much power did you run on the stock bottom end before the engine out build ? When you did build the motor, Did you consider a block brace? they seem to have got popular in the last couple years. Are you satisfied with the power you have now or, like some will you always be chasing more ? Anyway cheers for all the work you put into helping people like myself. (Watching from New Zealand)

Hey Thank you, Cody! On the stock setup with 17 psi I made about 430whp. I didn't consider a block brace as I wasn't going for crazy power. I am satisfied with my power. 600+hp in a street car is plenty for me.

Been watching your videos since the beginning, and I have had my R32 since I was overseas in Military in 2015. I shipped her home and I am collecting parts as I go, I am just nervous to start. I wanted to paint it first before I do all the major work and I am still acquiring more and more parts. Also I wanted to have the engine bay painted and that mean I need to remove EVERYTHING so I was hoping to have everything removed, it be painted then I would put her back together. Also looking at getting a Garage Active R32 Carbon-R body kit, havent got that yet, gotta save up 11k for that. Love the videos man.

Thanks for this amazing video. My question is did you cut any wires from factory harness?can you still unplug it and put the cas sensor back? I’m asking this because I’m having problems with prp and I’m gonna try putting the CAs back to see if the problem is from the trigger kit.
@Goodezilla
@Goodezilla 7 ай бұрын
With the type of connector I used (stock style see timestamp 28:12 ) I can just unplug it and use the factory CAS without any rewiring. The connectors that come with the PRP kit that I had it would require cutting and re-terminating the wires with their connectors.

Nice video, I’ve had my prp trigger kit on for a little bit now, having a weird issue where at WOT at 5500rpm the signal gets interrupted for a split second making the ecu think the engine is dropping rpm and adjusting timing. I’m wondering if when I installed the sensor somehow now under full load the home signal and crank signal are hitting a tooth at the same time. Pretty stumped if you ever had a similar problem I’d love to hear it seems there’s very limited information online. Also I noticed you set the base at 20 was that to compensate for the possible belt stretch?
@Goodezilla
@Goodezilla Жыл бұрын
Hey, I've not experienced that issue so I can't really help unfortunately. Maybe try and contact PRP and see if they've heard of that before. I set it at 20 degrees because I'm pretty sure that's the stock setting, no?

Is this trigger compatible with the AEM infinity 6? Also, can you explain what's the importance in adding this trigger kit to the RB? Thanks for the video.
@Goodezilla
@Goodezilla 2 жыл бұрын
You would need to contact Platinum Racing Products to see if its compatible with your engine management. The importance is that it's gives a much more accurate timing signal over the stock cam angle sensor (CAS) . RB engines when they make over a certain power level the stock CAS starts getting inaccurate and can give the ECU false timing information which could lead to incorrect timing being applied and in turn engine detonation or failure, if your car is tuned to the very edge of power. Haltech had a good video explaining this more if you search it in KZfaq. Hope that answers your question.

How do you find you car running with platinum pro + trigger kit? Is it a good ECU? Did you but any extra sensors from haltech? I have an r34 gtr (all stock except intake/intercooler/exhaust) running PFC. I thought now is the time to switch to a bit more modern ECU. Bought the trigger kit and planned to install the Link Fury, but there's too much to change and update, which is useless IMO for almost stock rb26. So, now I'm planning to have basically the same setup as you. So, do you recommend getting updated knock/temp sensors or OEM will do just fine?
@Goodezilla

The runs well with my setup. I bought haltech CAN wideband, flex fuel, 4bar Map, and fuel pressure sensors. I had to buy the auxiliary harness, for extra sensor inputs. I also updated the air temp sensor to a Supertec Racing fast sensor that uses the stock wiring, just had to update the scaling for the sensor in the ecu. My knock sensors are stock.
