In this video Wee Kee Jin talks about the development of the Relaxed force and the often overlooked aspect of Sinking that is absolutely essential to the progression of Taiji.
Often teachers of Taiji focus on relaxation but do not understand or teach the concept of sinking. Sinking and Relaxing are so important that they were the parting words of his teacher Huang Sheng Shyan. Huang, who was infirm and unable to speak at the time, wrote the two characters "松 沉" (Relax and Sink) with his fingers on Jin's palm as the last lesson he would give to Jin before he passed away.

Sir, I have been practising CMC-37 taichi for many years now. I had heard of and read all the taichi principles mentioned by you in your video. But how to do it practically was something I missed out all the time. Your words 'RELAX, SINK INTO THE GROUND, SINKING IS A MENTAL PROCESS, SYNCHRONISE BODY AS ONE UNIT, RELEASE BY VISUALISING FORCE REBOUNDING FROM THE GROUND INTO THE BODY AND EXPRESSING THROUGH FINGERS' made so much sense and gives me motivation to reload and reconfigure my form. If ever you come to India, do let me know. It would be my privilege to meet you. Thank you....Warm regards....Murali, Bombay

Very intense teaching. I followed some workshops and studied the Huang style for some years. But the intensity didnt work out for me. I was too much focused on trying to understand these principles and forgot how good the previous style (Ben Lo) worked out for me. Returned to this style but highly respect the approach of Wee Kee Jin.

This sounds a lot like my Dad he spoke much of the sink, the melting away, visualization it’s all in the mind the mind controls the function of the body through breathing movement

Dear Sir, Is it receiving and transvferiring opponent´s energy down to the ground and returning it to him using our better coordinated body ultimately will push him away? Paul,68?

It’s not there ..Because u try too much. I love that So important. Learning the moves is only the key. Key opens doors. Only later when you get in …do you have a chance to learn what’s in the house. And only then it starts to make sense. I love this guys talk. Thank you master

You have to be very strong to able to sink properly
@taijisoce
@taijisoce 9 ай бұрын
Interestingly enough the development of sinking isn’t from the use of strength. It is, as stated in the video, ultimately a mental process. Though there are physical movements it is not based on strength but relaxation.

The melting sensation is easier when my eyes are closed …. While doing the form.
@taijisoce
@taijisoce 2 ай бұрын
You may find sometimes that closing your eyes helps you feel the movements and sensations in your body and this is useful however the final aim should be to be able to feel this feeling with eyes open. Ultimately the aim is to feel this melting sensation in every movement you do, whether you are doing taiji, walking on the street, sitting at a desk.

@@taijisoce I have been studying the true meaning of - melting - For myself I melt when I am in a playful situation with my 11 year old grand daughter when she tries to push me. As I walk playfully around the Auckland botanical gardens my feet are deeply rooted with an awareness that has me circulate my attention from feet to head top…my shoulders have disappeared onto my waist and I am completely waist driven…I am very yin /yang aware in my body and able to open and close the door at will depending on where the opponent puts the pressure. Otherwise Covid times have interfered with regular class work for years and now I have retired to Paeroa. Many thanks for your generous answer.

@taijisoce
@taijisoce 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikewiest5135 In synchronise the idea is about getting the timing of movement (in the whole body) to happen at the same time. Coordination can sometimes be at the same time but the way the word is used timing doesn't necessarily have to be at the same time.

What is basic need of sinking??
@taijisoce
@taijisoce 2 жыл бұрын
Sinking is required to develop the "relaxed force" without sinking you have no grounding. With sinking you have grounding and can use the relaxed force.
