So simple and comforting! And I'm so happy Ate Apple is a regular in the channel now! Yaaay! Growing up in the Philippines this was one of my favorite Christmas/birthday "handa"! I never really knew what it's called until now! Sipo!!! Back then I'd just ask my mom for that dish that has cream, shrimp, quail eggs, carrots & peas! And from what I recall they use to put in diced turnips (singkamas) in this dish as well - I guess it's for the texture just like what Ate Apple mentioned about incorporating sweet corn!
