The Sith were a part of the Jedi before they were Exiled. They had different capabilities and views. The Sith were able to do what none of the other Jedi were capable of doing while simultaneously continuing towards the goal; This is why they are the most powerful. This is why you must embrace your shadow, your dark side, and embrace your temporary existence for you to overcome the obstacles that seem elusive. You are most powerful when you stare into the darkness and smile at it.

I'd love to imagine that this is how Yoda would look like if he were sith. He looks so badass here!

Love it. Takes me to a deep place inside. Something authentic, calm, and settled.

Remember this. Anakin was to bring balance to the Force. There were thought to be none or very few Sith still to exist. There were hundreds of Jedi. To bring balance he must fall. The Darkside was strong due to there being so few in number (my theory). With less Force users of a certain kind their Darkside was less spread among it's members. So the Jedi's powers were diluted in their hundreds of users in practice. Somewhere along the way it makes sense that Yoda finds this out. On Genosis he ordered as many Jedi as possible to be there to save Anakin and Padme. They lost an absurd amount of very capable Jedi to bug people with laser guns and tin can army. Yoda realizes he's much stronger now. And he was absolutely right. So for the greater good he is having the Jedi leading combat tactics spread out among the stars in the war effort that Jedi were not suppose to be involved in. This brings many to hatred, and even leaning more Darkside and Grey. War is Hell. Staining the soul. Order 66 occurs. He becomes absurdly powerful as the waves of Jedi fall. He can now feel the great disturbance like no other due to him being one of the dozens of Jedi left. He now thinks he might be ready to fight the Sith Lord. When facing Palpatine he thought he was a beacon of the Lightside. But in his willingness to peel away the weakest layers of the Jedi Order, he too fell away from his sanctum in the Light. He was racked with fear when confronted with real horror. True hatred. The purest deviant joy of a sadist. Plapatine thrived, high on the knowledge that this once Saint like symbol of the Order was stained with darkness in his soul. Yoda fled in fear, literally whimpering and sniveling through vents to get away. Yoda fled to Daygobah. A planet pulsating with Darkside energy. And there Yoda grew old and died due to his loss of connection to the Light. A Jedi would glow like a spotlight on a Darkside planet. Yet Yoda was camouflaged. Left to contemplate his actions. Despite his weak connections to the Light, since he was one of very few Jedi now, he could use his will to become a Force Ghost now. Probably to avoid the knowing faces of those he lead to their deaths. And stay closer to the living than the dead. A kind of Purgatory to prevent the chances of learning what would await him for his actions in the real after life.

Perhaps Luke and Leia and Obi Wan and the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire were all merely pawns. Perhaps the whole Saga is nothing more than a Master Chess game between Darth Sidious and Master Yoda. They each tried to kill each other, they each tried to train a better apprentice, they each involved themselves in commanding galactic armies and space navies, and they both retired from the world to study the mysteries of the Force, often leaving important actions to their most trusted underlings. In one sense I struggle to see any difference between them. Light side of the Force, Dark side of the Force...with adepts as powerful as Yoda and Darth Sidious, it's almost a question of mere aesthetics. Sith or Jedi, which floats your boat? I'll go with Yoda as a Lord of the Sith, they should retcon this image as canon and do the next feature film about Master Yoda's return from the shadows!
